- I analyze Laufey's marketing tactics, which have made her the most listened-to jazz singer alive today & a Grammy winner at the age of 25. Laufey has been winning the hearts of teen girls systematically on TikTok, and steadily strengthening her brand and fanbase through curated partnerships and events. To me, Laufey is a trailblazer and a blueprint for the modern-day TikTok-age artist. Watch to find out why.
I'm a 41 year old mom of 2 and I LOVE her music

Thank you so much for making this video❤ it was really interesting! I’ve been thinking a lot about Laufey’s marketing strategy and how she had the most gen z way of promoting herself and her music lately, it’s honestly genius of her! She truly understood what it means to be an artist in the 21st century with social medias esp tiktok. I’m surprised this video isn’t viral yet and that you only have 323 followers, you have a great way of explaining stuff!
thank you!! 💛
Ms Laufey is a brilliant singer songwriter and musician!
i agree!
this is so in-depth, thanks for deep diving into this
thanks for watching!!
I am a male in his early 50's from Europe and I like Laufey. I even bought her album on vinyl. Not to listen because I prefer streaming, but to support the artist. And I mostly listen to progressive house
nice!
Exactly!
I’m a 68yo ancient uncle from Singapore. I just luv Laufey’s music, her persona, her authenticity, her social media engagement & her infusing Literature & Art into her music. Come 4 Sep 2024, I’m watching her live at Singapore Expo Hall. Front row, no less, within breathing distance. I paid 4X the ticket rate via the black market. I know it’s worth every cent of it even before I attend the concert. ❤
wow that's awesome! 😄
I was just rewatching your other videos omg. This was super cool to hear about, I usually hear artists complain about the fact that they have to have a social media presence now. It was cool to see someone using it to their advantage.
I really enjoyed this video 💓💓💓
thank you for watching!
Awesome content! Thank you for this!
Hope your channel grows a lot 🤞🏼 ✨

aw ty! 😀
Hey queen loved the video (try to deactivate the Blue voice effects of the mic or lower gain because when yout voice reach low tones it sounds deeper and robotic
Tysm for the tip! 🫶
@@amysreads
@@amysreads I agree. The mic is doing strange things to your voice. A random viewer-by... bye bye.
@@Sindrijo thanks for the feedback! next one will be better 😀
Girl, you are so cute.
This is so fascinating and well put together, thank you❤❤
@@nicolewangmusic aw thanks for watching! 💛
Loved watching this video, such a smart take

Laufey is so honest and genuinely cares about her music and how it has affected herself and her fan base. I am a 71 year old womyn who has fallen for her vocals ,along with story telling , in a major way! Of course her love of jazz and classical music appeals to my generation! However, after attending her shows 3 times, her appeal to an afternoon audience ( mostly those 11 to 13 year olds) as well as the older group (in the evening ) is simply amazing ! Junia and Laufey are extremely comical and that helps a lot given where we are today in the world. Your explanations are so spot on and I will continue to listen to your podcasts!
that is so sweet! i agree - laufey seems to really care about her music/audience and she and junia are really funny :) thank you for watching!
I like the video but couldn't finish it since the audio was weird? Is it just me?
:/ what was weird about the audio?
@@amysreads Idk, my guess is maybe they didn't like the over-dubs you did, when you made mistakes, i guess? That's the only thing i can think of, but they seemed fine to me.
@@WaitingForTheHook that's fair! i'm still figuring out my new mic 😅
gazz
:/
Her team choosing to promote her as a jazz artist even thought she does americana was her marketing strategy. It's not smart, it's exploitative. Imagine losing a Grammy in the jazz category to someone who does watered down folk music claiming it's jazz.
Her music is so boring
Insofar as that’s true, that just makes it even more impressive how popular her music is!
