As part of an experiment, what happens when you do it 4 times in a video?
When you activate this feature, it should help new channels increase subscribers. Use this new button feature wisely and do not overuse it.
Always give a compelling reason to subscribe.

As of today, all of the button are animated and limited to only one use. You can now use words: "subscribe", "like", "thumbs up", "dislike", "thumbs down", "share", "download", "clip", "make a moment", "save", "save to your/the playlist", "add to your/the playlist".

Does each of those glow specific buttons? The "subscribe" glowing the sub button, "like" the thumbs up button, etc. Also is the one time use once for the entire video or once per button/word?

Oh it's working, if your on an old version of the app or else some kind of custom browser add-on or using a very old browser then you won't see this happen at all...

It seems it only flashes once now - Subscribe and Like. So it's more useful to say it at the end of the video instead.

It glows only one time. I think when the TH-camr say it for the first time it glows. Then after that no more.

I had heard that this was going to be rolled out, but in your video the button didn't flash a single time 😢. As a related aside, since I started my channel this June (so 4 months ago), I only once asked folks to subscribe and then I never again did it. I'm now bordering on 12k subs. I just figure that if anyone really wants to sub, then they already know how to do it (at least so far this seems to be working on my channel).

For me the rainbow button flash appeared once and never again.

I dont always make a call to action. Generally if i am trying sonething new, ill refrain from doing so, until ive seen that the pivot works and got a decent reaction.
Looking at my own behaviour, ill hit subscribe automatically when i "connect" with a creator, or when i see a clever pay off to their thumbnail/title hook.
I seem to get similar engagement on my own channel.

This new feature is really annoying. I'll be watching something and the thumbs up icon keeps floating upwards in a very distracting manner. It makes me want to leave a video, not give it a thumbs up, does anyone know how to not see it?
yes for this one it flashed once only too. Und no flashing for "LIKE". Although this one does use the "Return TH-cam Dislike" extension, so it's possible that interferes with flashing the LIKE button?
EDIT: this one takes it back. This one watched another youtube video and when they said "LIKE", the like button flashed like a rainbow.

It only triggers once.
I think, the video has to be over 2 min long, and the trigger word has to be spoken, only after 10~15 seconds into the video.

I only had it flash once, but on other videos I have also seen the "give this video a like" make the like button flash.

I tried on my 2nd TH-cam Channel to say both "smash that like button" And "Subscribe" on a video i uploaded. But it did not work unfourtunately.

Yeah I disabled that the moment they added it. I'll also never sub to a channel that asks me to, and I'll always unsub if they start asking for subs in videos.

Found this video while searching for anybody that's tried "hacking" the glowing buttons. I wish you could get them to light up more than once, it would be cool to see someone "hack" them to light up in some kind of cool sequence, like morse code or something.

yes seems they ditched the idea of 3 times in a video
Maybe also:
- Refocus the page over the 'Sub..' button
- Maybe add some text to follow the chime that comes with the rainbow
like "type down your political view" (so we really zone into it)
- Darken the rest of the screen
- A little spinner (just to gobble up all the leftover focus)

To add feedback, It didn't highlight with rainbow colors at all for any of the times you said it. I subscribed and liked anyway but it didn't work on my end.

yes I noticed that, I put this down to two things, maybe it takes a while for the transcript to establish itself , so give it a week. if it doesn't work then possibly if said more than 4 times the button defaults to off on all references
the video was experimental in many ways, so on my next video I will use it once, have your videos shown it when you say the word subscribe?
