Thank you so much. I made a one-time business trip to Newark in 2015. I wanted to perhaps ride the trolley, but in fact couldn't even see it because it was down in a tunnel. Now I've seen it clearly, thanks to great video.
The Newark Light Rail/subway originally operated with PCCs. There were several lines that entered/exited via ramps. Modernization and new light rail equipment has bought the system into the current state offering better transit for the population. Thanks Tim💚😀
By far, the fastest and cheapest ($1.60) way to get from Bloomfield to Newark Penn Station. I commuted on it to a previous job. I still take it to visit beautiful Branch Brook Park.
Includes LRVs rebuilt with middle sections to increase capacity. Not all cars assigned to Newark light rail were rebuilt like that. Didn't ride the branch to Newark Broad Street station via the arts district?
No gates, because the crossing at Orange Ave is protected by normal traffic lights. When traffic on Orange Ave has a green light, the train gets a red light and must stop. I'm old enough to remember riding the trolleys on the Central Ave line into downtown with my mom to shop at Bam's and Kresge's😮
Hi Tim! I didn't have time 2 watch this video yesterday sorry! Unfortunately i had oncological controls please! This video is very good! But da previous video, which was about tha rio de janeiro's suburban trainz, it was awful!
You are the only one on TH-cam to record walking down the entrance to the station for the Newark light rail, I appreciate you for that

Memories. I was an engineer for pse&g when it was converted from the 1890’s mercury arc rectifiers to solid state rectifiers. Thank you.

The new fare is $1.80 and they also print an expiration date for the use of the ticket
Good video quality, do you use a go pro?
Nope! Thanks for complement!
Why didn’t you show the street running?

Nice looking cars, but very squeeeeky! The Military Branch station platform is super wide. Wonder why?

No gates at crossings? That's an accident waiting to happen.
