Nice one Jack great set Ip for the tv and sky set up, love the lights with voice control. My Alexa didn’t pick you for a changed, nice beard trim. Cheers
Ace job with the install 👍👍, those black nickel sockets did look mighty fine. Has the plasterer from Bundy's jobs followed you back to your patch now 🤣🤣
You mean for the metal boxes? For some reason the middle sockets were set back and the ones above and below were fine so not sure what happened there but I didn’t no it would be that fair back to be fair
Noddy question because I'm not in the trade, but when you are stripping cable with your pliers, I assume you've just got that feel for how much you 'nip before you strip' or are they pliers with notches in?
Removed an electric fire and used the existing fused switch to feed 2 double sockets, if I turn on the fused switch while all 4 plugs are turned on my main fuse box trips, tv, skybox, 2x hue, Xbox. Doesn’t trip if Xbox socket is switched off but tv momentarily goes black screen if I turn Xbox on, sparky says I’ve caused a fault on my ring, he wants to rip my wall to bits but that ain’t happening, could a thicker cable help from the fused switch to my 2 new sockets?
That wouldn’t trip anything as the loading is barely anything, might be worth getting it tested as could be a fault on the cable used Try ure Xbox on different sockets and see if it trips still
A lot of connection problems is because it asks you to connect to the 2.4 network and your phone is probably on 5 network..most routers have a compatibility mode that basically turns the 5 network off and leaves the 2.4 running for usually 30 minutes so then your phone and the other devices are on the same network… once everything is set up and the 5 and 2.4 are both running everything should work..I do a lot with smart WiFi equipment
@@JRCElectrical 5 over a short distance is ok but over a greater distance 2.4 if far better and far less susceptible to interference…but faster data transfer over 5… double edge sword unfortunately

Great video Jack 📹
Thanks dude
Easy solution to the plasterers filling the holes is buy the socket shields. Reusable! Nice job btw
Cheers dude, it takes 2 seconds for them to empty the box out, those socket shields would probably be plastered over and lost forever 😂😂

Just from experience really I think, u just know how much is needed each time after doing them thousands of times 😂
I would have put some led strip into the back of the alcoves for the sky box and soundbar. That would finish the job !!

Those narrow slots above and below the TV looked like a nightmare to wire up? Or was it easier than it looked? Great video 👍
It was a nightmare but made easier with the Bosch go screwdriver, would have been mega hard without that
How you cutting insulation off when doing your common with link to 2nd switch , do you just knife it off ?
Do it like ure stripping a large ammount off then stop, the insulation you have slid up the cable just cut off the end
