Jake's channel and his single N54 135i was one of the major reasons I went ST on my 335i. Another reason was AdamLZ :D Great content as always, nice to watch, informative, real user and enthusiast content. Greetings from UK
Looking forward to whatever content you choose to go forward with. Motivation for me to get back in the garage get the car running again before the summer arrives.
Good job catching that cage coming out of the oil filter. I've seen that happen too many times, and idiots don't realize it and just Jam another filter in. Then it will cause the filter to collapse in and you lose oil pressure. When I see that I'll check the oil change sticker where it was done last and it's usually some quick lube place.
To get an idea on numbers, I had a 135i shipped from Houston on an open bed to Chicago about 4 months ago. Total price including insurance was $808 through a uShip contractor called Tempus Logix. I didn't really have any complaints with the delivery, besides the driver wanting you to sign and get to the next delivery asap. RoadRunner Transportation is also probably local for you and I've heard good things about them, probably just slightly more expensive. Edit: Time to get the car was about 6 days after booking shipment
Great info here, thank you! I've shipped some stuff before, but I definitely want to get something affordable this time. I will look into those companies, I appreciate you sharing.
I would definitely be interested in a truck and trailer roadtrip of you getting the car. Would definitely make for some great content. Keep at it Jake!👍
I always remove the oil filter first, allowing the contaminant oil to drain down into the oil pan, then open up the drain pan plug removing the rest of the oil!!
Jake would you consider a video reviewing the N54 PVC system, catch cans (high and low) side, and all the options emphasizing on applications for 18-25psi of boost. Seems to be a lot of information out there. Also adding your thought on head plugs. Thank you!
Glad to see you back. Right in time too, cause I pickup my FIRST M car in a couple weeks. Just to think I was a Subaru guy when i started folliwing you kek
Hey Jake I’m having a lean mixture code, anything you came recommend me to diagnose this problem? Keep up the videos you were my inspiration to get my 135 ❤
How many miles were on the old engine when you got it? Also I use motul for my 600whp n54. It's compatible with e85. Castrol is good for lower power. I would ask the guy for a leak down test. Just picked up a motor with bad sealing valves on cylinder 1. Thankfully they took the motor back.
Same thing just happened to me. Picked up a used motor and cylinder 1 had a horrible leak down because of the valves. Everything else was mint. Might be easier to just rebuild my hit engine lol
Be careful trying to pull a car on a trailer from Florida to Wisconsin the weather can turn on you and be nasty. If you do decide use I 57 thru Effingham, Il to I 24 to Nashville, Tn. I 75 thru Atlanta is an absolute clown show and I 294 around Chicago is under heavy construction. Time your trips so you'll be running on the weekends there and back. The 10 day weather forcasts are pretty accurate, but it's tourist season in Florida.
You are the 3rd TH-camr that has sent their oil to Blackstone and results came back normal when they engine was already blown. Completely useless information.
I know you want to make content and you need to get your views up, but I wouldn’t be interested on a picking up a car video. Personally I don’t care for involving videos ether. I just like meaningful content. Other things TH-camrs do that I don’t love or is videos where they do like a day in the life videos. If your the 135i guy own it.

I appreciate that, mate! I'm excited to get this car back together so I can continue creating more single turbo content for yall 😎
Always here to support
Keep going jake, love the consistency
I always get so stoked when you post dude

Views are definitely going up. Definitely keep up on the uploads. Honestly, any media you make, we'll watch. Road trip included. (no LS's 😉)
Love to see this support, thank you man. Gonna keep grinding!
The quality of your content is dangerously underrated, just keep it going 💪
Also, N54 infos and your experience with it kinda video would be awesome 👌

N54 knowledge videos would be dope!!
Love to hear it! Anything specific you want to see?

Thanks 💯 gotta keep it up!

I think a road trip with my ol’ pal Jake would be a great time
Another quality video! Keep going brother. 🎉
Another great video! I use a sprayer bottle top and empty out the left over oil in the filter housing! You aren’t weird in doing that!
Keep it going, thanks
Yesss cool bro I see everything is working in you favor 🙏🏾
WOW - never had the oil filter cap come off separate from the cage and oil filter -- plus damn dirty oil. N54 heat monster destroys oil .
I’ve never heard of this company. I’ve used BlackStone for my E46 M3 and they were spot on with the results.
BimmerStreet to the moon in 2023 🚀
Looking forward to the content! Also...do the road trip!
As long as it's not too much more expensive, I think I might just do it!
Do you prefer Castrol oil Vs Motul for N54 ?
we gotta collab dude, the two different kinds of 1 series lol
I'll have to check out your channel man!
@@jake_spence for sure my man i just got started making youtube
Glad to see you back. Right in time too, cause I pickup my FIRST M car in a couple weeks. Just to think I was a Subaru guy when i started folliwing you kek
How do you like the Dinan carbon intake? debating one for my 10 135i. Do you think its worth the investment?
Hey Jake I’m having a lean mixture code, anything you came recommend me to diagnose this problem?
Keep up the videos you were my inspiration to get my 135 ❤
If its only the mixture codes change the 02's. If its giving a code for intake pressure sensor change sensor on top of intake manifold.
You will eliminate the mess if you pull the oil cap off first, it releases the pressure and then lift the car and drain the oil.
I ran the same oil and after 600 miles it did not come turn out well. I have now switched to Motul power racing oil

It had about 90k miles on it when I put it into my 135i. And nice, I use Motul in my 135i, but use Castrol in my 335i for daily duties.
Same thing just happened to me. Picked up a used motor and cylinder 1 had a horrible leak down because of the valves. Everything else was mint. Might be easier to just rebuild my hit engine lol
Lets gooo
I just bought a 2006 330i. Are there any engine mods for this car and are they worth doing?? Love the channel keep it up!!!🙌🙌🙌
Keep her stock but other mods you could do is like coil overs and upgraded bushings sway bars etc for better handling
Yeeeeet
Nice
Shouldn’t you remove the filter first ? That way the old oil drains down and gets drained. 🤔
slap some new bearings send the block to machine shop and lets rebuild that engine 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾😂
Definitely send it to Blackstone labs, these results look kinda off and not as detailed
That's what I thought. Unfortunately I don't have any more clean samples, that was the only sample I kept 😕
Veichle virals had a similar experience with Blackstone labs.
Bro the uhaul trailer method is soo expensive. If you go get it, you may be better off trying to borrow a truck or trailer to offset the cost
Driving it back would be great content....#roadkill

Send an oil analysis to blackstone. They are much more in depth and give much better results and descriptions.
I have a test kit on hand if you want to use it.
Why haven't you done the cowl delete, that torque wrench was a good promo but is it better than Menards 😁🤣
You are the 3rd TH-camr that has sent their oil to Blackstone and results came back normal when they engine was already blown. Completely useless information.
This wasn't Blackstone, this was a local place that did it so I didn't have to ship it. I'm definitely bummed.
Oil analysis is only useful if you do it every oil change so you can get a baseline and then see if one day there is anything extra in there.
I would honestly ship it, I also know a very good shipping broker 😎
Who's that? I'm looking for recommendations!
@@jake_spence I messaged you on Facebook
isnt more easy to just pull car outside, then pull it inside from other gates? :)
Fly down, drive back. Simple

These vague clickbait titles are causing me not to click your videos. Tell us what dude
Trying some new stuff as TH-cam algorithm gets more difficult. I just updated the title, because I agree, it's been cringy.
go for it man, keep it consistent! anything...ridealongs. meets. anything car related just go for it!
