I have been chatting with Austin for a while now. Proper car dude and hes not doing it for the money. He really wants to keep N54s alive and make sense as a tuner platform. The next stuff he has coming is next level. Just wish i could talk about it.

This is such a brilliant solution! I already have P3 Gauge specifically for monitoring oil pressure, but I absolutely had to also get this NXM kit, purely because it will immediately drag your attention to any potential oil pressure issues and it will do it in an OEM way! The P3 gauge doesn’t quite do it that well, but that’s not a dig at them - I’ll be able to re-purpose the P3 Gauge for one of its many other features!

Dipsticks are on the back burner. The oil temp we see when we remove the factory sensor is an estimate, not true oil temp. So its got us concerned, we dont want to loose oil temp guage accuracy
Picked one of them up when they had the sale til the new year. Haven't hooked it up yet. But it will replace my gauge I have. Be much cleaner then just a random gauge in the car.

Man its mega.... i am going to shot for this, but i can't remember what mid pipe it has. But its VRSF downpips, some european mid section, then stock 1m rear mufflers.
After all your testing, what turbos would you recommend? I am in australia also and trying to max the AT around 600whp with port injection. But just stuck on turbo choice. Do I go the new VIV turbos or a name brand? If so what name brand. Budget is a concern of course but this is my daily.
Video doesn't really show the color correctly - it's actually Valencia Orange, which is the signature color for the 1M - IRL it's not as bright as it appears on video. Contact IND Distribution if you're interested in one.
You will this setup for it to work with in the DME. You record oil pressure on the reflex and display it in MHD through can. However for it to limit RPM and throw error codes you need the work of Nexus.
Is the price going up or down on this if its going down and isnt supported in mhd yet then I would wait for this. But if its less now than it will be in the future I will hop on the band wagon instantly. Also I guessed 50 psi at idle but i ddnt expect over 100 when revved.
Prices never go down...... well not on products people want anyway. As mentioned on the site they are at an introducty price at the moment. And man its crazy the pressure they make.
Cold start idle is right around 100psi immediately, and scales down to about 45psi once warm. Normal pressures while driving are 60-110psi. Assuming my car is normal, which I suspect it is 😅
Hi Andrew a really nice video even if not really relevant to my cars, the feature sounds interesting. My 2 cents this is no amateur suited feature at all. Seeing your oilpressure is good, seeing if it probably drops to zero so you can shut off the engine in time...(maybe a interesting feature for a security mod at least in non oem ecus) amazing. BUT mercedes once had those in cars in the 70s and 80s and then in around 1990/91 they dropped it because a lot of costumers couldnt understand that oilpressure is highly temperature, RPM and oiltype depending. Just saying people should install this if they know what they can get from this!
@@maxgr7723 Hey Max, you can actually configure it to shutoff if you have a custom tune. We didn't want to do that for the default options when using the MHD checkbox though. The limiting is done via RPM limit so you could set the limit to say 0 RPM and the engine will turn off. This can be dangerous though depending on the situation and I would only recommend it on a track as you'll lose all power and power steering.
@@BahNDesire oh thats interesting and you are right about the complete powershutoff being a potentially dangerous option. I just thought the only thing that really would save the engine though in case of far to low oilpressure or fast oilpressure drop might be a shutoff instead of still giving it power to run...still it is a good feature that will probably be really cheap compared to a fatal engine failure!
Or Would it be possible to just purchase the licence code and use it on OTS maps as by the time I’ve imported the physical sensor/loom and payed shipping duty and various taxes it end up being silly money

Not so much the fear of breaking something but just realizing having a reliable car, being able to hit the track and meet car enthusiast seems far away. I’m sure once the time is right I’ll have that urge to go even harder again. Deeper pockets to make sure the only problem is too much boost or just my health. But yes, having a reliable n54 is way better than not having it run at all.

Once I got this 335i my whole perspective on cars and life changed. I used to think nothing was better than a v8. How things have changed. USE GREAT CARE installing the new oil pressure sensor !!!! The old oil pressure switch is made of steel and is pretty tough. The new sensor is made of brass and will snap if you exceed the 7nm torque recommendation { 5.1 ft lbs which is barely above finger tight) I did so. I had to buy and wait for a new sensor to be delivered. BMW dealer price is almost $100 US. Short of the torque recommendation in the instructions there is NO warning on how careful you need and should be with this part. Should have used a different pressure switch? Yes...... bottom line be very careful with the installation of this sensor it will save you wasting money on a new sensor and having to reinstall your old switch until the new sensor arrives!!!!!!!!!⚠
I just installed mine and this sensor doesn't look genuine. I don't expect genuine but I also don't expect an after-after-after-after-after market alibaba special. It's just a transducer but considering the junk and fakes coming out of China such as fuel pumps, wheel speed sensors etc etc won't be surprised if this hits the fan way less than genuine/oem after market MTBF.
Scam pricing. The actual part is 12617592532, which costs about 30$. How much would such a simple harness retail? 10-15$? What's the rest? MHD license? We are not even able to buy it alone. Nice money grab by NXM and MHD.
Some people can't be happy. The sensor part number isn't hidden, it's right on the sensor itself. You're paying for the assembly level program changes, I'm not talking about calibration changes. This is not an MHD product, MHD is just a requirement for flashing the program changes. This is substantially cheaper, easier to install and has way more features & fail safes than the $250+ gauge kits on the market.
There is a lot of time that goes into coding and developing mhd to read this sensor. Money grab? More like they’ve improved our platform for 160 bucks. If you don’t have $160 to spare then you shouldn’t be driving a BMW or just miss out on this feature…
I can promise you though you will be at the same price or more for sensor, wiring, pins, plugs, wire shielding and tools then you won't have the license and your car wont read the oil pressure... it's really a good price point. You can get a manual gauge and pay more though.

Bang for buck, ebay turbos. Money no object on twins, the flow maxes are insane. But the best option is a good single kit.

This package completely changes how the dme sees oil pressure and how it communicates it with the car. It’s pretty clever.

Once you have the kit from NXM you will be able to modify any DME tune. So OTS, custom map etc

Nope, its not part of MHD tuning side. Just MHD is the cheapest way to get the custom modified bin file in the DME.

JB4 does not to oil pressure either. Just oil temp
Stand corrected it is only temperature it logs no pressure sensor on any of the gauges apart from boost
