Mercedes ML Trunk Boot not working due to Latch not working. DIY cheap fix for ML300 ML320 ML350.

- In this video I describe how my 2011 Mercedes ML300 had an issue with the Boot Trunk Latch failing and thus not allowing my boot to open or close properly.

In this video I show you how to fix the problem cheaply use an Autopa part, however the Autopa part failed just outside of the 12 Month Warranty and Autopa would not replace it. As a result my recommendation is to now use the following part:

The problem first became apparent that I could not open the boot and we had to use the emergency latch from inside the car to open the boot, however when it was closed I realised that the boot was not fully closed because a alert was on the dashboard indicating that the boot was not closed.

Just finished fixing mine.. saved a bunch of stealer charges..

Thank you! Very helpful and saved me money. Worth noting the boot open light was still on the dash with the new latch. Took out a fuse for a few seconds and it cleared it:

Usually your videos have good audio levels but this one was hard to hear. Otherwise very good.

For what is a hobby … I’m genuinely trying to get the audio better and have bought numerous different microphones over the years to try and improve the audio, perhaps one day TH-cam will pay me enough to get some Professional grade Wireless microphones!! door wouldnt latch, got one at yard, it latches but wont unlock and raise, pump is coming on, wont work even after adding oil. pump moves like bldging pressure. lock dont unlock and when i unlock wont raise, maybe order new parts?? i wonder what door mover looks like and if its weak? is it a cyclinder or?
I got the after market, put it on and when I go to open it it sticks and I have to pull it up to open. It’s like the arm isn’t opening all the way. Could be a bad part I guess, there is no way to adjust it ???????
Just get another aftermarket part, you can buy like 20 aftermarket parts for the cost of one genuine Mercedes part!! Cheers Drew
Hi, I have a similar issue, the boot is closed and locked can you tell me how to release the latch without removing the door panels as I can't remove the plastic panel in the closed position.

I'm assuming its the same problem. But the latch wont hook so I can pull the trunk open (even when locked)

how do you remove the bottom piece of the rear door, on the hatch, but on the part next to the bumper, you know the chrome piece that has the hook for the hatch latch? Thanks

Mine is a 2007 ml350 and latch won’t close the door it opens and closes but will not lock. Should I get the aftermarket one I’m in USA thank you video was great. I was going to get a new Sam but I’m no mechanic but I think your video will help thank you. Any tips or where I could buy the lock
