One method that has helped me reduce crashes like 90% is setting a background FPS cap at 30 FPS playing in windowed fullscreen mode. Whenever I go to a load screen, I press Windows key, so the game caps at 30 fps and uses significantly less cpu (game tries to keep max fps while loading, god knows why), preventing it from reaching 100%
Thank you for this! I've been using Kapp's PoE Uncrasher recently along with clearing POE2 shader cache before launching the game, and that works really well. I don't think I've crashed since I started using Uncrasher.

@YungYdoc at first try using the settings from probalance on process lasso and with the help of kapps uncrasher. I was able to play the game for straight 6hrs but got tired and went to rest. Turned off my pc. And then after work came home tried to do the same thing before opening the game it took 30mins or so then it crashed the game again. So I tried something to optimize the game. In the settings I lowered everything to low and then tried window mode and chose 1920x1080p. My native monitor setup is 2560x1440p. Restarted the game and the Processlasso+Kapps is working again. Hopefullu some of the viewers read this and try this method too coz it helped me
we shouldnt half to be pro IT players or computer geniuses to play a simple game. Havn't to download files changes core adjust computer setting etc etc should not be a "US" issue to resolves and find work arounds to be able to play a basic ARPG. I play games with much greater requirements to play the games and have zero crash or issue with those games. ALL the people who scream its "Early access what you expect" are the real problem because they arn't pushing problems to get GGG's attention to get the game working properly they are just brushing it off as EA blah blah. Yes it's early access BUT this is a critical game functionality that HAS to be fixed above all priority's to even be able to play the game properly.
Process Lasso is amazing, but these are paid pro features for those wondering. The free version you can just limit the game from using the first 2 cores of your cpu. When it crashes, it will just be the game because you reserved those 2 cores for windows to use.
I posted this on another video's comments so it may be familiar. Using AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, 16GB RAM and Asus RTX 3060 12GB. Doesn't fix all crashes but it helped me. This is only my experience but I have lowered my CPU (Ryzen 5 5600X) temps and gotten a higher MHz by undervolting the CPU. And instead of crashing a handful of times per hour, it only CTDs once or twice per session (still annoying but much better). I took the CPU clock speeds down by .2 V and went from @4.3 GHz to 4.6GHz. Each processor is different, so YMMV. Lower the V in .05 steps and test to maintain stability. I also set temp limit to 85C since upon exiting load screens CPU usage would hit near 100% and temps would spike to around 90 - 91C. If you have a Ryzen this can be done in BIOS under PBO settings (many videos on this). I don't like fiddling around too much in BIOS so I use PBO 2 Tuner to manually apply the temp limit and undervolt every boot when I intend to play something. You could also enable Eco mode in Ryzen Master software for slightly less benefit but it still helps. I apply both. Both programs need to stay running for settings to stick. It may be helpful as well to install MSI Afterburner and enable on-screen display to get a better idea of how your GPU and CPU are performing in-game. You can also get more MHz and lower temps by undervolting your GPU slightly using Afterburner. Again, many videos on how. PBO 2 Tuner can be tricky to find, so look here (the source): github.com/PrimeO7/How-to-undervolt-AMD-RYZEN-5800X3D-Guide-with-PBO2-Tuner/blob/main/README.md It says 5800X3D but should work with all (most?) Ryzen CPUs. It works on my R5 5600. Also RTX 3060 GPU and Windows 10.
Did everything on this video, and something worked. Dont know what but it did lmao. Thanks!!! (not touching anything until the devs and forums confirm this is %100 fixed)
Finally, not crashing at all. I set CPU Priority to always real-time in lasso. I know you said not to, but I'm not having any side effects from doing so, and my game no longer crashes during loading screens and getting 100-130fps. I did the "CPU affinity always" and took the 2 cores off as well just in case it does crash it won't freeze the PC. The way I see it is that an always on real-time process can affect performance/stability, but not more than POE2 crashing the entire machine :) Will update if anything else happens.
I think this is a really solid effort that you have put together for people. I have a high end gaming machine (i9 14900 KF and RTX 4080) and POE 2 crashes every half hour to an hour. I do blame myself for purchasing early access (I told myself I would never do this, but I made an exception for GGG). I have updated my BIOS to deal the instability of the intel CPU. I for one, don't have the time or patience to do trial and error for an early access game. I might come back after full release. Again, I hold myself responsible for getting in on early access, but on full release, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect this game to work and run well on my system. I shouldn't have to try all these options to enjoy gaming on a high end system, and I will be disappointed if these issues are still present on full release.
Shouldn't hold yourself responsible as it isn't yours or poe2s fault. The blame falls on windows. Specifically windows 11 24h with the notorious freezing of the whole pc on load screens
Laso worked for me. Thank you for the video. I am looking forward for a stebility patch so everyone can enjoy. I was concidering not playing anymore because of the crashes.
Had constant BSODs. Changed BIOS parameter "CPU load line calibration" to a higher value like "Level 5" fixed the issue for me. Old intel mobo and kinda old intel CPU, 32gb RAM, 7900GRE.
just tested the latest version of the uncrasher, since the free version of the Process Lasso loses the required functionality after the "trial" expires (cannot add the required rule). the uncrasher seems to work, it's nice you can follow the programs actions, it always parks two cores on a loading screen to preserve system responsiveness and it told me when it detected an unresponsive POE2 process and it recovered sucessfully. Running on an AMD 7800X3D and Nvidia GPU. I think until we get an official fix this will do.
What worked for me was going into: Power Plan -> Changed Advanced Power Settings -> Processor Power management In here I changed the Minimum to 93%, and Maximum to 97%. Although I'm nerfing my already mediocre CPU (AMD 5600G), its working great with POE2 so far and no crashes, yet! Figured I should share just incase someone finds it helpful.
