I see this as a pivotal year for UT, coming off of a ten-win, CFB PO season with a sense of having "lucked out" to even get there, and real doubts about their immediate prospects. Things really do look a little sketchy after that season ending fiasco - especially with the Vols having plenty of holes to fill going into the spring. Slippage of some sort looks like a virtual certainty and Heupel could be feeling some real heat if he leaves the swamp with another fresh butt whipping in '25. Interestingly, two of UT's old nemeses also seem to be at a crossroads in '25. Bama and UF both have a lot to prove, with UF probably being the biggest question mark in the league. The outcome of the UT/UF donnybrook could be highly impactful for both programs, obviously. IMO, the loser of that game could be traveling a rocky road going forward. From 30K ft, UF has more answers in place, roster-wise. But BN has more to prove as a game-day coach than anyone in P4 FB. Stay tuned.
Tennessee is 0-10 in road games at Alabama and 0-10 at Florida in the past 20 years. These games have been automatic losses for the Vols. And they're 0-8 against Georgia in both home and away games since 2016. It doesn't inspire confidence heading into these games.
