His work philosophy can be applied to anything that requires consistent work/discipline in order to achieve high goals and that that moral code/discipline in itself is the arguably the highest goal, not the results that come from that discipline
Love this! As a therapist, I teach this all the time. You've got to learn to love the process. The process is really about living in the moment. This moment right here is all you really have control over. And, what you focus on, you magnify. So, it's important to stay focused on the process because whenever you focus on anything else, such as the future or the past, you're actually reliquishing control of your life. Focusing too much on the future causes anxiety. Focusing too much on the past causes depression. Magnify the moment! Love the process, and finish the play. ThanX for the motivation Mr. Saban!!!
I really do like the mission statement he makes. About doing your best & affecting others in a positive way. And developing relationships with people & caring about them & their future. And that very thing CONSTANTLY (in my honest opinion) was making his job more difficult every year cuz his assistants or his offensive or defensive Coordinators were getting stolen by other teams needing coaches. And he consistently used that adversity to get better rather than fail. It didn't really happen with Bill O'Brian and although Bryce Young was a great QB, for some reason idk why, the teams just didn't possess that killer instincts! Compared to 2020 and previous years! And did anyone ever notice that Saban only had 2 seasons where Alabama went undefeated? But he won 4 National Championships where Alabama had lost a game. So that speech about "there not being any great victories WITHOUT tremendous adversity" EVIDENTLY, Saban got a lot of mileage out of that speech during his time at Alabama! AND I'M TALKING ABOUT SUCCESSFUL MILEAGE TOO!!😊 And yes Nick Saban was one of the greatest college coaches ever & a very intelligent man as well. But in my personal opinion & estimation Nick Saban was these things BECAUSE he was a great human being first! And most people that have such tremendous success in this day & time usually do it by stepping on those that they can to get ahead. Rather than having success by motivating large amounts of others to be successful. And because of what he accomplished AND HOW he accomplished what he did, & judging his success by the success of others he motivated he is THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MAN I'VE EVER LEARNED ABOUT.
Proud auburn man and auburn graduate and I see coach saban in such high regard. I didn’t see this when I was at auburn due to blind team spirit, but I have immense respect for coach saban because he is a man of wisdom, integrity, and values.
As a Bama fan and graduate, I appreciate this comment! I've been so saddened since he retired.😥 No offense against Kalen DeBoer whatsoever, but Alabama football will never be the same without Saban..
I remember watching this several years ago. I was really into listening to his speeches because Paul Finebaum had his team psychologist, Kevin Elko, on his show every week. Thanks for uploading.
I try to listen to this speech at least once a year. Through the years I've heard a lot of people say a lot of bad things about Nick Saban. And I always thought to myself "they just don't understand how he really is & how he really does care about the coaches & the players & everyone else in & around the organization and program. And also in my honest opinion, that caring & developing relationships with the coaches & players IS ALSO WHAT LED TO HIS RETIREMENT! I think all the NIL deals & players that haven't even accomplished anything on the field were looking at him wanting money. And Coach doesn't work that way. If you are a part of a NIL deal that isn't something Saban is going to be involved with! He's there to Coach football players not commercial actors. And if you want to play football then let's play football. The NIL BS was just getting in the way of that. Saban has always cared about his players & his coaches. But the way College Football is progressing it made it harder for him to care about his players and he was constantly being disappointed by most of them not showing any kind of loyalty to him & the program he represents. I hope that made sense! But every year I like to come back here & watch this video over. It inspires me & motivates me to want to be a better person!

Nick Saban is one of my favorite speakers ,he is right up there with TD Jakes because they make it simple so no matter who you are or what you do, you will walk away with more wisdom by listening to them and implementing what they say. How you know you’ve listened to someone great is , do they know defeat, and did they get up and continue to win, if that answer is yes then you need to listen to them. IF you could have lunch and speak with any living person, who would it be? My answer - Nick Saban, hands down! He is so smart, so talented, and really knows how to explain how he operates. One of a kind person and ultimate winner
I believe you’re the best over all and complete person and coach! Father Tony was our Pastor at All Saints in Dallas. He believes also! God bless and keep you always!
Without a doubt the man is right. If you want something you have to have a vision for making it happen. And within that vision there needs to be a good plan for making that happen. And you have to work that plan & NOT deviate from that plan until the vision becomes a reality. Unless, of course, you realize there is some fault in the plan & you have to make a new plan. BUT you cannot accomplish a goal if you do not have a goal in the first place. And then accomplishing the goal you not only have to totally focus on achieving said goal but make sure not to fall into certain holes that will prevent you from achieving the goal either.
Even though I’m a Florida Gators fan, I have to admit Nick Saban is the GOAT of all college football coaches. Fan of Nick Saban or not we all have to respect him

You have a right to fail yourself but not the right to fail that causes everyone else around you to fail. This reminds me so much of when Stottie Pippen decided not to go into the game in the last seconds when Phil Jackson drew up a plan for Toni Kukoc instead for him to take the last shot in a playoff game. So selfish of Stottie and he let his team down. Stottie should have realized not going into the game was not only letting himself down, but his team down and it's not about him, but about the team.
Or how about the time that Miami Dolphins coach was having a bad season his first year and he told everyone again and again he was in it for the long haul and there was no truth to the rumor that he was going to jump ship and leave everyone hanging just to profit himself and become Alabama’s head football coach?
22:47 One of the biggest problems he has to deal with is the coaching staff wanting to be buddies with the players and players end up losing respect for their coach. Before the Ole Miss game 2 days ago, they showed a video of Lane Kiffin and his quarterback out playing golf together. Lane said "yeah I guess you could call us friends. He's just a really easy guy to talk to." Lane Kiffin is best buds with his quarterback 24 years younger than him. Saban fired Kiffin. Saban just beat Kiffin in a huge way. Maybe one day Kiffin will grow up and actually listen to the things he saw while working for Saban.
@@theirishsensation9682 😂😂😂You might want to stay out of conversations when you don't know wth you're talking about. Saban fired him before the championship game. Yes he was already leaving but he was spending all of his time putting his new staff together and recruiting and not focusing on finishing his tenure at Alabama. So Saban fired him before his time had ended.
@@theirishsensation9682 But one thing you said is correct, I have a problem with Kiffin. I hate seeing people with potential like he has being wasted. Like Matthew said, he has never grown up. He parties with 18 year old girls. All his friends are 20 years younger than him. It was rumored he had a fling with Saban's daughter. Miss Terry hated his presence at Alabama. He has just never grown up. For those reasons he will never be anywhere near Saban's level but yet he easily could be.
@@coachtim6188 you got the inside scoop man. He was dating sabans daughter but he didn’t fire him then? 😂 looks like your wasting your potential Tim, maybe get off TH-cam and focus on your team “Coach” lmao
Special. Would do anything to be able to put on the pads and go to war for this Saban… but lucky to be in the digital age to be able to hear this guy speak.
Some people will watch this thinking they might coach like Saban......That will not work......Saban's success is not in his leadership skills. It's in the fact that he knows more about college football than anyone alive. He can look at something and see it in 30 different ways whereas the average coach might see it in 5 different ways
Motivating your players is a matter of perspective there are some people that motivate and teach individuals how to deal with life's everyday problems and situations that motivate people better than you. Many leaders and talented professionals from all walks of life motivate people to face all types of stressful situations and challenges that are a part of everyone's lives and require attention and many of these motivational speakers are not football coaches. I have come in contact with many people in my life that were very good at motivating people. Getting back to Nick Saban he is a great coach and motivator, but I can think of a couple of football coaches that can also do the same things Bud Wilkenson's team was selected 6 times as a national champion in football Barry Switzer team was selected for 5 national championships, but those two coaches only claimed 3 national championships. They only claimed 3 that were unanimous or consensus unlike 2 coaches at Alabama Paul Bryan and Frank Thomas claim titles with only 2 or 3 or 1 selector Oklahoma and Nebraska both had back to back national titles. Nick Saban these are the facts you can go to Wikipedia to check and the problem I have with you id you could practice on your humility and how you handled Burton was pitiful we will be seeing you soon With Texas go Tennessee Boomer Sonner!!!
Does leadership require you to badger the referees when you are not getting your way? To get everthing reviewed because the referees are sissies and wouldnt go against Sabin? Or get multiple infractions overlooked in every game as the referees dont want to be called out by Sabin? Alabama is the dirtiest gangsterest team in College Football. Go back and look at every play at the Texas game and watch the facemask calls and more importantly the non calls. This is coached. They are not individual actions. Almost every single play hands are up around the helmet.... Its a dirty culture as they know for every time they do it that it will be missed or overlooked 70 % of the time. Analytics has a dirty side and Alabama is the King. Screw Sabin. This is a modern version of Gangster Miami.
What’s sad is Rolando McClain went on to assault someone with a gun being involved once he was an NFL player. Lost his job, money, and respect. The thing is you can’t take the thug out of a thug. Who cares what someone calls you or says about you when you are worth 30 million dollars who cares ?!?!? Thugs care that’s who. What a waste of talent.

@Matthew Skywalker well he never got fired so show me my ignorance lmao
What would Nick have done if the guy facing the assault charge had been a career third-string backup?
Special. Would do anything to be able to put on the pads and go to war for this Saban… but lucky to be in the digital age to be able to hear this guy speak.
🎉❤🎉❤ dang eye opener
What is the name of the book he mentioned...about positive attitude?
The road less traveled is the book he mentions
@@gabe5946 Thanks!
TELL THEM COACH SABAN. LOOK WHAT U HAVE WITH ALABAMA.
GREAT AT EVERYTHING!!!
Sounds like someone's shaving in the background 😅
Does anyone know when and where this talk was given?
Cyclone Hart vs. Vito Antuofermo maybe?
Golly, how does Mr. Saban find time to go give speeches, in between photo shoots for Aflac? Amazing.
All college coaches have a staff around them that help them build a schedule and obviously his works for him 🙂
Little Napoleon is gonna find time for this attention, for sure.
yikes, the Rolando McClain story is great but doesn't reveal all of the chaos involved with that guy.

important
15:27 holy cow Nick Saban is helping me with my education degree! What a master educator. 😮
Jesus does love you!

vito antuofermo fight vs eugene hart
👍👍👍
So insulting to Nick, to all the people looking down at their phones, it doesn't matter who's speaking
He is q mentor and football was his vehicle. Other coaches tried to fake and copy.
Im from Monroe 😂
When the chips are down, can you survive?
Wrong!!!!! He is not one of the best college football coaches he is the greatest college football coach to ever live!!!!! Get it right!!!
Reap what you sow? Really? Seriously? Does the name OJ ring a bell?
Replay !!!!
JESUS!
Nick backstabbed Jalen Hurts

Modern day slave master, no wonder he doesn’t refer to his players by name and only number..
Lol slave master help them to millions yup
