This is why it’s hard for children to talk to their families about them being molested nowadays , because they’re afraid others wouldn’t believe them . Calling a six-year-old child “promiscuous” is grounds enough for any type of child protective service organization to get involved immediately, in my opinion. Not to excuse his lack of action but I assume the mother’s side of the family was the one actively taking care of her, presumably they had more means to do so than the father did. This would give him a lot less leverage to intervene, especially when the entire maternal side of the family is circling the wagons around the cousin. I could imagine that perhaps he was incarcerated when she was put in foster care. I’m not sure it’s “big talking” just clearly his unconditional support meant a lot to her. It’s easy to criticize someone in hindsight for how they acted in a situation you have no real knowledge of but it seems pretty obvious to me that this is an environment where everyone is struggling hard. Again I’m not going to excuse his lack of action, in a perfect world he would have been able to trust the authorities enough to contact them regardless of his own circumstances.

I finally told my mom just a few weeks ago what happened to me when I was a child, not in detail because I’m not ready to go there. My relatives were toxic too. They played a huge roll in why I didn’t speak up. I’m almost 30 with a family of my own and it still haunts me. I’m sooo overprotective of my babies. I just never want them to experience that type of pain. I pray she is able to heal and find comfort. ❤️

There are people who are in the wrong when they dismiss an innocent person as a liar because when the truth comes, people will face disgrace, regrets, and guilt.
Some are not even sorry, and attempt to make themselves look like they are the good guys but ended up making themselves the bad guys. They think don’t deserve to face the consequences, but they do.
As for the innocent person, he or she deserves justice, peace, and happiness while the guilty person faces punishment.

They have wondered why she is so hyper, awkward, “crazy” in their eyes it’s because she has been abused and tortured her whole life.
She held it together for much of the show but that complete breakdown was her being vindicated.
She hasn’t even properly grieved, healed, or realized what happened to her.
Also that it was just her abuser that lead to her horrible reality but her family was responsible also.
Think about it, it would take so much therapy and life changes for her to become a healthy adult. She was abused and tormented. Then her family didn’t believe her. Everyone always treated her like she was crazy. She ran away and stayed in the streets as a reaction to the abuse. Which that caused her to be in more horrible situations.
Young lady you are so brave and thank you for being the voice for so many! A lot of us aren’t strong enough to speak our truth. Today you did it for us!
