Lowes Kobalt RECALL 256,000 Chainsaws and Pole Saws!

- Over 256,000 saws are included in 2 recalls posted on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website. No injuries have been reported, but they are telling us to stop using the recalled saws immediately and to contact distributor Hongkong Sun Rise Trading for a free repair. Are you nuts? Send us new saws!
For 106,400 Kobalt 40-volt Lithium Ion 8-inch Cordless Electric Pole Saws, the recall says the switch "can fail while under a heavy load, and cause the unit to continue running after the user releases the trigger, posing a laceration hazard to consumers." - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
I erred - CPSC DID notify me of the recalls. The problem was there were three other recalls with it, and I just missed them on the notice. These recalls are very important and scary. It's great you put a video out notifying everyone. Thanks! I've missed your videos. I thought you just hadn't done any, but I discovered TH-cam had unsubbed me from about half my subs, and I had to re-sub to all of them.

Just got one recently. date of manufacture is 5/29/20. I'm certain you can't find a recalled one at any Lowe's right now.
Yes when there is a recall, I believe federal law requires pulling it from store shelves. eBay won't let you list a car or other consumer item with an open recall either.

Jeff, I picked up the last $99 Werner ladder at a Home Depot on 9/22/20. I had to look around, but found one on a cart.

I have the pole saw and I called the number and they sent out the whole switch and battery housing within a weeks time . And I never had a problem with the original switch.

I am getting a flashing exclamation point (on a yellow triangle above handle)on my 80v kobalt chainsaw. I am not sure if the model I have has been recalled, I will have to call Kobalt. My chainsaw won't start because of the flashing warning sign and I can't figure out why. I go to the manual that they have online but it makes no mention of the flashing light. I didn't keep my receipt either so not sure if I can take it back to Lowe's.

I would imagine that anything still on the shelf would incorporate the fix already know store wants to sell something that's on a recall list
Easy enough to keep one's wits, slide the hand down from the switch and delatch the battery. Threat averted. If someone doesn't understand how their tools work, and at least have thought through what can go wrong and how to correct it BEFORE USING, perhaps that isn't the individual that should operate the tool. Goes for anything in life, no?

When will homeowners learn. I would have purchased ryobi way before kobalt. Atleast it’s manufactured by a reputable company.
