EP3 Off-Road to Find an Alaska Glacier // X Overland's The Last Frontier Series

  • Back in 2013 on the team's first overland adventure to Alaska, they attempted to drive up to the well-known Knik Glacier. The team found themselves in over their heads-literally, and had to turn back. Now, eight years later, Clay once again has his sights set on taking the team to see this incredible glacier. The way is proving to be just as it was before, replete with powerfully flowing rivers, deep mud, and technical challenges. Hopefully, the team can work together to find a way to the glacier. Whether they make it or not, their attempt will doubtlessly lead to an unforgettable adventure.

Hands down the best part of this is watching your son grow and learn. It's so rewarding to see someone learn on the fly through real world trial and error.

Doc John has one of the most important roles on this series, not just as a doctor, but a crew member and friend. His attitude towards life and wise words are truly something to live by.

Hey guys, I actually "live" right next to you(see my channel for what I do/how i live). Any chance we could meet up? I'd love to see the builds and would love to pick your brains about some tech questions on my current setup. And I'd love to have the opportunity to do a walk around on some of the rigs to let my subscribers(although admittedly I am a tiny channel) see your awesome setups.
You guys have been very influential for my lifestyle change and I'd love to have the opportunity to meet y'all...Although I did get to meet clay a couple years back in the wholesale sports parking lot

I was about to comment the same. A 12-year-old and his friends on 4 wheelers go from the parking lot to glacier and back in a day. Hell, i know a high school kids who went in and out on a fat tire bike.
Kudos to the filmmaker for editing it into an epic story though.

Wow !!! Watching these episodes of your journey through Alaska just makes me want to go back again. My wife and I took a cruise for our 30th anniversary up to Alaska (Aug 2019). We did some fun things Ie; Kayaking through Icy Strait, taking a helicopter up onto a glacier, seeing and HEARING a glacier calving from the deck of the cruise ship. Horse back riding through the back country outside of Anchorage. Clay seeing you sit and absorb your surroundings while at Knik brought back all these memories. Thank you. As I told my wife if we ever get the chance to go back, the way you are exploring Alaska is how we need to do it. Hands down some of the best videography ! cannot wait to see more!

Make memories (now) with your loved ones. It doesn't need to be an epic location like Alaska, just a weekend or a week long road trip. To a place you haven't been to before. Discover new places. Enjoy each others company.
Enjoy theses moments while you can. They're priceless.
Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the next episode...

One of the best series I have ever came across on TH-cam! Even though you're not in the trip but still helps you learn soo much, helps you understand yourself just by watching it. I wonder how amazing it would to actual experience such things. Always hope of doing it someday. Just amazing and breath taking. And very special applause to the way you guys captured entire trip, getting out of the truck placing cameras, scenes from drones in such conditions that's just something else.

We used to camp at the sand dunes where Jim Creek comes out of the trees to the river and go to the glacier from there. It’s crazy how long it takes to drive the roughly 15 miles from Jim Creek to the glacier. We usually had a couple ATVs and a few trucks and used the ATVs for scouting the best routes. If the ATVs made it we knew the trucks would likely make it. The water changes daily and can rise overnight. I know people who have camped in flat dry areas only to be woken up by water coming into their tents because of the rising river.
