Several years later and I am now looking at this as I couldn’t afford it new. This was a great and enjoyable review Thomas and very helpful. Also the comment at 6:15 about carrying your granny around made me laugh. Thank you 👍

Very good review. I like the car key too ;-) The sound is amazing for a Diesel.

Thanks! You were the first one to watch again, very fast! :-)
I was very impressed with this Diesel as you can take from the video. If every Diesel would be like that, I wouldn't miss a petrol engine at all ;-)

Great reviews! I would ever so bravely like to agree that there is no modern vehicle I have seen that can match the overall capabilities of a well specked 2014 diesel cayenne even in 2021! Let me explain briefly. There is a great selection of SUV's nowadays that can match diesel cayenne's pace on tarmac and ultimately be even faster but the issue is that Pretty much all SUVś are plagued with stiff sports profile tires that simply do not manage to absorb the vehicles vast bulk on a regular city roadsurface however clever these adaptive suspension systems are because these cars have to be stiff enough to break laptimes on the nurburgring and remain stabile on the autobahn high speed lane change tests. The net result is that you can perform well on autobahns and on the nurburgring for about 20 minutes untill your modern brakes and tires wear out rapidly under their vast weight in constant lateral and longitudional loads whilst a wide tires take away any steering feel. So if the perception of entering an endurance race in an SUV is out of the question because it's tires can't tolerate constant lateral loads for an extended period of time and brake fade is immense if you do not opt for carbon ceramic brakes that screech and collect stones in the REAL world then all that a modern SUV can boast is its epic acceleration of vast 2 ton mass. Buyers vanity paves the way for producing these COMPLETELY POINTLESS AND HOPELESS VEHICLES that have little to none of the practicality, low speed maneuverability, reliability and efficiency that we enjoy in many of the lighter 90's vehicles till that day. However the 2014 Diesel Cayenne manages to make an argument for itself because it can be relatively fuel efficient with its highly developed diesel unit, it's tire sidewalls manage to be mildly stiff yet absorbent enough to perform optimally both on and off road brilliantly whilst providing the best of the feedback what electric steering has to give.

I always loved the Cayenne. So Sleek. You can't go wrong with them. They have released a Platinum edition of 2014 and I think its nice as well.

Upgrades were incredible. If you could do a review of it that would be awesome.

That car key looks like the Tesla Model S key, but great review, I think these are some of the best reviews online right now, very good job!

Porsche has announced that they will no longer be producing any more diesel cars across their range. No more diesel Macans, Cayennes or Panameras. (as from 20th February 2018)

the style of this old video is totally different than what you do nowadays. Changing it was a conscious decision? Now it really feels too short and with a car like this I would've liked a deep review of every detail of the interior.

YesIAmThatCoolBitch I am sure there is an English accent (Irish maybe?) where you speak height like hate ;-)
However, it is a nice idea, e.g. to connect the exhaust sound to the hate niveau ;-)

Ummm, I seriously test drove one of these today with vast excitement and it was the worst diesel I have EVER driven re turbo lag (FROM STANDSTILL) ... and that includes trucks. We did 5 launches from zero and agreed that turbo lag was about 1.5 seconds.... what a heap of $hit. We took it back within 10 minutes and then tried a few launches with my humble ford territory single turbo diesel.... and agreed that my Ford had about 1/3 of the porsches disgraceful turbo lag.... Sorry porsche - complete fail..... anyone thinking of buying one DO NOT just floor it on the move (it goes great then)..... do a few standstill takeoffs and you will laugh your guts up.

Poor Anthony doesn't know enough for his own good. This car is immensely faster than a crappy ford, your feelings and opinions are not facts. The fact is this car is better than yours.

Read it again Dilbo. I said the Porsches turbo lag is disgraceful from dead standstill .... and it is - it goes hard when the turbo's get spinning. So I just got my SQ7 that has zero turbo lag - thanks mostly to its electric supercharger (+ twin turbo) and is quicker than Porsches V8 diesel. I test drove all luxury SUV's. Seriously, try one. (recently discontinued V8 twin turbo - Good move Porsche deleting it)

"The Cayenne Diesel is not quite perfect, with my biggest qualm being turbo lag. This momentary lapse between your right foot flooring the accelerator and the Cayenne transmitting that action to forward momentum is a characteristic of turbodiesels, and this model is not immune"......
there you go - someone else noticed.... drive one

@@anthonyspanjich2772 You poor moron, you know nothing about cars, diesel engines. Learn how to drive like a man and maybe you will see how much faster these cars are than your shit minivan that's called an sq7. Your car is for soccer moms who want young dick, is that what you are?

    • @anthonyspanjich2772
      @anthonyspanjich2772 5 ปีที่แล้ว

hahaha... Look it up - Its an Audi (I was driving my ford taking everything for test drives.... An SQ7 is not a Ford...).... My father was a diesel mechanic and I helped him all the time (and I HATE turbo lag - hence the Porsche)... Oh by the way, my SQ7 "minivan" is quicker than Porsches V8 twin turbo. Read / watch this little boy - Oh my, the Porsche only manages 5.7s 0-100.... Mmmm. I'm glad mine does 4.9..... Now if you're old enough (??) test drive both before you open your mouth.... Remember - your looking for turbo lag from dead still - no launch control..... What the heck - try both.... SQ7 smashes Porsches V8 Cayenne anyway with about 80 more HP and almost 100Nm more.... hahahahahaha.
