I'm no medical student but I appreciate your work. I'm here for the ASMR. You should open a second channel just for ASMR doc. No explanations, just the medical exam. You'll see it skyrocket quickly.
i think youre very late to the party. he's pretty sky high and started doing the medical explanations cause we all asked lol. also hes too busy teaching tomorrows doctors to dedicate time to an ASMR channel
I cannot thank you enough for helping normalise positive consent, but especially for doing so in the context of a doctor/patient dynamic where patients may not feel comfortable speaking up.
Yeah i agree, but often it is viceversa: too many questions make the patient uncomfortable, and they say yes but not really understand, they're often elderly. So we usually tend to explain the test before, because during it, we practitionares keep it simple
Used to come mostly for the ASMR but have been picking up the medical stuff along the way. Your videos have definitely been very interesting and also helped me understand some other unintentional ASMR videos I watched. Happy new year and keep up the good work !
As someone with proprioception issues as a result of sensory processing disorder I sometimes have problems losing my balance and/or tripping over my own feet, especially if the pressure/fluid in one of my ears is off a bit, it once caused me to have motion sickness for 4-5 hours after getting off of a very rocky boat from Ellis island in New York City and I was never so grateful to see the land stop moving up and down on me as I was that night when my body finally readjusted itself back to normal, walking around the city on foot all afternoon while dealing with that was really difficult. Great test!
Happy new year! I hope this is helpful. There are a couple of other bits that neuro can add on for decompression induced brain insure, but I didn’t think that was appropriate here.
Thanks for posting this; it was very helpful. That said, for patient confidentiality, I highly suggest not having the patient provide the name and birthdate on a shared video. With all of the identify theft, this could inadvertently create a huge problem for the patient.
Should stand feet together, closed eyes, no support for 2 minutes. Even I can do that, and I had a 26/42 stroke 21 months ago. Mostly I have only rudimentary proprioception
@@DrJamesGill I know but the WORLD doesn’t need to know their DoB… and I am pretty sure it is private information … instead of asking them to say their DoB, you can simply remind student to ID their patient before any examination…. I am pretty sure it is well understood
This will involve doing a couple of manoeuvres for us. *patient does a 3 point turn and parallel parks himself*
🤣🤣🤣 perfect
As a freedom-loving American, whats a parallel park?
@@DrJamesGill how tall are you doctor James in cm ? Guessing around 181 cm ?

I had this test carried out just today in Oncology Physio. Passed 😁
That’s great news!
Happy New Years 🎊🎉 Dr. Gill. Great video as always. Practicing the test with my fellow RNs, right now. Thank you, from Texas 👍

happy New Year Dr Gill! here's to another year of your soothing voice and peaceful naps
happy birthday to the patient!🎂🎂
Useful video as always!
Glad you think so!
Sometimes the silence is the best part
Yep. This english accent kills me. Silence is better
Happy New Year Dr. Gill 🎉
That was quick!
It’s only a short skill

With those fingers, I can see why you're getting married. Many congratulations Doc, wishing you every happiness together x
Again congrats on your wedding........ 🤙🤙😏😏😏 by the way thanks for the book references gives me something to read on my lunch time
My pleasure!!
So excited 😍
I cannot get over how terrified the patient looks lol
2:24 me trying to give someone a hug

What constitutes an abnormal sway?
If Dr. Gill was a US Police Officer conducting a DUI 😂…so polite everyone he stopped wouldn’t even ask for a supervisor
Curious, is your intro music royalty free music or did you have it custom made?
Dr . Gill . Can this test be used to determine if someone has had a stroke and in the evaluation of a patient that is post stroke ?
It can’t identify something like that - as it is not a specific test in that sense for diagnosis
Nice video
Thanks
How do I get this test done by my doc
It would be done if you have balance and gait disturbances
@@DrJamesGill what if I feel my spinal fluid is that weird ? I have odd symptoms .Sometimes balance issues
I don’t understand what you mean that can you can’t feel your spinal fluid
If there is a balance issue, I would advise speaking to your GP

James McGill aka Saul Goodman?
I’m not sure that’s a flattering comparison!! 😂

I don’t why you need to record the DoB of that model in the video. It’s so unnecessary. I hope that’s not his real DoB

@paddyolten4031 or it could be a fake DOB…
I still struggle to accept that fully grown humans - nay Doctors - can be born in 2000 🤦🏼♀️ I’m officially OLD 😆
As a 1996 Doctor; I can confirm.
