I started vocational training in medical technical lab work a couple months ago, now I'm able to understand much more things watching your videos which makes me happy :) Maybe I'll go to med school after my apprenticeship is complete
Love these. I'm no doctor or medical practitioner, but I've always had a fascination with medicine and anatomy. I love to learn as much as I can, even if I'd never be able to use these.
I like these videos by Dr. Gill. I try to do the tests on myself. But I go to my GP twice a year and all this is done. Of course he's not as polite as Dr. Gill but spends as much time with me as needed. I love the guy. Wouldn't change for anything.
Hey Doctor, I was wondering if you work as a Doctor as well as practicing medicine, it's amazing what you do on your channel sharing your knowledge as it is though! :)
I'm always amazed by your medical knowledge, I honestly don't know how you remember it all! Thank you for these educational videos. Not only does it relax me but I learn so much from them.
My ONE critique of these videos is that everyone is always healthy. Is there any chance you could get someone on the table that actually has some of the symptoms or presents with some of the signs mentioned?
Wonderful video, as always, Dr Gill! Minor correction: at 23:57, wheeze is expiratory and stridor is inspiratory (or actually can be both). Keep up the good work!
Absolutely love listening to your videos on Spotify, is there any possibility of these newer video's being uploaded at some point? Totally understand if it's too much work 🥰
Great video! Dr Gill, or anyone who knows, how do you adapt percussion techniques to overweight patients and, in particular, patients with obesity? Or is the sound transmission the same?
Doctor: It's it Ok that I examine you? I will need to touch you. Patent: No Doctor: Super. Please see my receptionist and she will take your payment. Doctor: Please send in the patient who went to a doctor but isn't interested in being examined.
Hey Doc, when your "putapitapa" video came out and you became easily top 3 most popular ASMR Gods....was that your intention? Like, where you aware of your growing popularity? Or did you find out after the fact?
I) percussion over the clavicle allows you to assess the apices of the lung Ii) Pulmonary hypertension can result in increase work of the heart, leading to RIGHT ventricular hypertrophy and possibly failure
Love for you to do s suspected diabetese examination and even a diabetese check in general my gp was shouting at my l.d teenage daughter mentioning bad things willl happen to her if she does not take metaformin which incidently gave her symptoms of so would love to see an examination of a suspected case of to see what my gp should of done
Hey. I don't know why it seems like doctors are prescribing metformin to those that don't need it. I would get a second opinion before making your daughter take that medication anymore. Doctors get financial kickbacks to prescribe unneeded meds. Good luck to you and your family.
My aunt had them prescribed years ago and for what, who knows. She is literally the healthiest person I know. She's 100 pounds soaking wet with little to no body fat. And when she does occasionally put on a pound or two, usually ten at the most, it all goes below the waist which is the healthier body fat.
I wonder if there is a way you can make a video about something called the Bystander Effect (the theory that states that individuals are less likely to offer help to a victim when there are other people present). Maybe you can explain the tell-tell signs that show someone is actually in need of medical assistance.
A couple of videos ago this patient was diagnosed DEAD! Dr. Gill trully is a remarkable professional. 👏👏👏

Consider yourself lucky. I myself am lucky also because my double first cousin is my practitioner.

Ikr. I can barely remember what I did ten minutes ago. 🥴🥴🥴
theres a reason doctors go to school for basically a decade lol
Amazing explanation, fellow doctor. Regards from Brazil 🇧🇷
Yo veo todos sus videos y ni siquiera soy doctor :D saludos desde México
A charming British accent is also a requirement for every examination.
Indeed.

My ONE critique of these videos is that everyone is always healthy. Is there any chance you could get someone on the table that actually has some of the symptoms or presents with some of the signs mentioned?
No easily as that is a huge confidentiality issue
@@DrJamesGill Ahh. Yeah, I suppose that’s an issue.
I want to see a doctor that completes all the tests and at the end is like "you have a week left to live"
There are some pretend ASMR videos doing that on youtube but none are performed by an actual medical doctor and serious, as far as I know
Ah yes unhealthy specimen. I can volunteer for that, in a condition not to wake me up in case I doze off.
Wonderful video, as always, Dr Gill!
Minor correction: at 23:57, wheeze is expiratory and stridor is inspiratory (or actually can be both). Keep up the good work!

Thanks for explaining why to multiply. Dr. ❤

Thank you for your videos, they really are very helpful.
By the way 10 minutes in, you said 10 deciliters per ml... But 1 deciliter is a 100 ml...
Dr Gill, I tried this exam on my dog. He demanded belly rubs and fell asleep on me. You ever have that problem with patients?
Giggles
I have that same exact problem with my boyfriend
Great video! Dr Gill, or anyone who knows, how do you adapt percussion techniques to overweight patients and, in particular, patients with obesity? Or is the sound transmission the same?
Unfortunately you can’t really. The test becomes less sensitive
You're a real life doctor bashir! Thank you
This was so much helpful!!! Please do a video on every system (major systems rather)😅
That's the plan! We’re doing cardio next
Stridor is inspiratory and wheeze is expiratory
Well spotted

I love Intro Inline font too
Oof. Your pfp hasn't aged well.
what a shame... maybe u should try getting a job?
I think Dr Gill & the patient are both cute & beautiful.
bless your heart Dr🙏
Needs correction.. Wheezes r expiratory mainly( due to small airways' obstruction)& Stridor is Inspiratory sound due to obstruction of larger airways
100% unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a way to do so on existing videos
Very informative Videos of clinical exam.. Thnx to Dr James.. Regards
Oh wow. I see some grey in the beard. I always thought Dr. Gill was super young, like early 30s, late 20s in his earlier videos. 😅
It’s my covid stress work grey!
@@DrJamesGill ah, man. That's tough for a 27 yr old.

Hi Dr Gill, I have osces coming up; can you kindly clarify why we 1) percuss the clavicles 2) check for heaves in a resp exam. Thank you kindly!
I) percussion over the clavicle allows you to assess the apices of the lung
Ii) Pulmonary hypertension can result in increase work of the heart, leading to RIGHT ventricular hypertrophy and possibly failure
Good luck, and any other questions, stick them in the comments and I’ll try to get back ASAP
great video! but i was under the impression that stridor is inspiratory and a wheeze expiratory?
It is. Stridor large airway narrowing causing inspiratory noise
Due I missspeak?
God the NHS in scotland really needs to up their game, when I get checked I am lucky if they even whip out the stethoscope!
