Konami's composer at the time had mastered vibrato. Listen to her work on Rocket Knight Adventures, excellent stuff and very much in the same vein as this OST.

i swear the pirate ship level theme sounds like something sparkster would jam to.very Rocketknight Adventuresque.and also my favorite theme along with the game over screen, the caves, the forest and the final factory theme.god i love this game

Living in Argentina, from 1996 until 1999, 90 percent of the times I saw a Sega Genesis, Tiny Toon Buster's Hidden Treasure was available to play(at different friends' homes and in Carrefour, which are at least four different locations). That was great because it was my favourite game and I didn't own a Genesis, so this game had a certain arcade feeling since I couldn't play it at home. I knew the Sega Genesis before 1996 but surprisingly never stumbled upon this game until that year, when all of a sudden almost everytime I met the Genesis I also met this game.

Serious Rocket Knight Adventures vibes from this soundtrack. I noticed that emulators always seem to make the percussion sound really loud and unfiltered whereas the real hardware it sounds much more subtle and easy on the ears. Emulators give the Sega Mega Drive sound chip a bad name (and alot of lazy composers too)
That’s what I thought when I heard the music sounding like Rocket Knight Adventures too. It shares the same YM 2612 FM genesis sound chip. The game came out much earlier than Rocket Knight Adventures in the same year.
