Sims needs to develop himself, especially his self confidence. This season, I've noticed that he's starting to at least sort of look towards the basket, but he's still hesitating. That development comes mainly in the off-season. Too busy playing the games to do that now.
Have really liked Jericho's defense, rim protection, switching and pnr trapping, ability to play vs physical and athletic players, screening, rim rushing pressure this year. Gave us numerous games where his insertion into the game impacted the game by making stops and getting our guards free for easy shots. Hou, Mil or Den will be fine additions. But if thibs is not going to play him, best to go somewhere else where he can shine. We can pray that Mitch Robinson won't get hurt again this yr and that Precious can keep up with Giannis, KP, Mobley, Wagner,Turner and Embiid when or if that time comes.
We aren't going to witness Sims real potential when he plays less than 5 minutes a game that's not even enough time to warn up he will explode anywhere else wherever you go enjoy the ride and show the people what you're made of im sure you will do great 👍
That's true, I was saying the same thing about Huk, I think Tibbs blew it not giving him major minutes right off the bat as he would be a blocking assassin for us right now.. instead he only comes in for a few minutes , tries to make his mark but just ends up fouling... Huk shoulda got worked in with the starters and been that backup monster people are afraid to enter the paint because of as we know no one is scared of the paint with Kat, actually the opposite)
Right now I cannot even comment on Jericho Sims, because I'm still pissed-off that the N.Y. Giants foolishly won the last game of the season! The Giants could of had the 1st pick!

Sims is the perfect insurance policy, in the event that Mitchell Robinson is not able to effectively return from injury, or there is another front court injury. Also, he is still young and on a team friendly deal. There is no need to move him at this time.
@ericgolden2070 I'll play devil's advocate with you, and concede that he is not an offensive threat. If you want anything more than a late second round pick for him, you shouldn't bash him.

@@TheKnicksRecap I💯 % agreed! It’s just because Thibs likes to play 7 to 8 man rotation players. And he still giving tiny time for the 7th & 8th players.
I wouldn't sweat it. Sims is unrestricted at the end of the season. Let him go along with a bench player or two. The NBA cap also increases. The guy the Knicks need to keep their eye on is Malik Beasley who is also a free agent at the end of the season. Malik only makes 6 mil. He should get paid for the 2025-2026 season, and with a few moves, we should be able sign him.
2nd round picks are valuable. They can tranform into cheap rotation players either by increasing your chances of drafting a gem via draft or trading for bench players in other NBA teams. If the Knicks need something moving forward is a deeper bench. Miles McBide was a second round pick and now he's our main sub.
Do not do nothing the Knicks need to leave this team alone when Mitch comes back he's not going to have to play a ton of minutes they have too much talent
Troy, I'd trade sims for 2 seconds. My reason is three fold. 1, we aren't gonna resign him this off season. 2, getting a couple 2nds can help us get more cheap talent if need be. There are two guys in this class (the mocks have falling ) that I like (mgbako and markovic) so I wouldn't mind adding them. 3rd, we could definitely add at least one of the gleague guys (maybe 2) if we get chuma and moses brown. I know tj would make more because he's been in the league longer. Im not sure how much each guy would make but still we're saving 2 mill with the sims trade. I'd prefer moses over sims at this point anyway. Also, I'd love for the knicks to look at possibly snagging jalen mcdaniels from the gleague. If thibs could get jalen to play half as good defensively as his brother, we get elite defense on the cheap. But I get what you're saying.
Appreciate the comment Chris. I understand the risk of losing him for nothing. But 2nds aren't worth that much either when we are stacked with them. I guess something is better than nothing. I'd love to see him play, if it's on another team, go on. But the Knicks would be crazy. Precious is on the block.
He would be a good chip in a trade to get another center.
We don't need more 2nd Rd picks. He's not adding anything to this team. It's time to go. He never developed. He's the same as Day 1. The Knicks failed him and he failed the Knicks. They should have developed him. He regressed.
Trade Sims free up a spot for TJ and okeke and Moses Brown then wave Matt Ryan 🧡💙🗽‼️
Simms for adams
I don't think this works unfortunately.
If the Knicks had drafted the greek freak under Tibbs , he would not be the greek freak
Sell now and get Jahil Ochifer from the G league while he is available.
Get rid of sims he is just a waste of a roster spot. Get some else that is worth the spot
A waste is crazy bro chill damn
Not for picks though. You need to get a player back for him. I hope NY is thinking the same thing here.
👽…Houston wants Jericho Sims give Knicks Steven Adams & 2nd rounder…🫨
I doubt this works unfortunately. But I understand wanting to trade Sims.
@@TheKnicksRecap truth be told I like Jericho I wouldn’t trade him this yr until I really get him working & not worrying about touching the floor till after all star break I would need him to be a Jhart type enforcer hybrid that flys around on both ends…I believe he can do it
My man stop DOWN TALKING KNICK PLAYERS cant trade if u and others always talking trash on players ubare an idiot wake up fool .....if they like him they will for nd a way to get him m into the player he can be ,,,however if they like tibbs or like u he just he as he is .........
Jericho Sims n Tyler Kolek for Cam Whitmore
I definitely don't wanna give Kolek. He's a star.
Keep Kolek, use pacome
Trade simms and pacome, throw in McCullers as well and get a serviceable big. Mcculler is a waste of a roster spot, don't expect much from a rookie when he can't even start the season healthy
