  • I've been curious about 7artisans and their fully manual line up of lenses. This 55mm f1.4 is the first lens I've picked up from them. I used to use all manual film cameras back in the day and I'm sure are rusty running the street with this kind of lineup. Let'e see what happens!
Let me know if you have any comments and/or suggestions as this is a way for me to create, connect and be a part of a community of creators and artists.
    Keep shooting, no matter what!!!

I take it you use focus peaking. I use 7Artisans lenses and yes you are so right the manual focus slows you down a lot. It took me a long time to nail it. Now I have a focus success rate of about 80 per cent. I also focus wide open and then stop down. That’s really slow so street is really a challenge unless you use the pre-focus technique from the old school film days. Still fun though!

I love these manual prime lenses. I shoot manual most of the time so it really works for me. The price is really the icing!

I agree the price is amazing, especially for the quality. I still use auto focus primarily. It's sometimes hard for me to commit to manual.
      Have an awesome weekend!!!

Thanks for the comment Shubh! I feel it actually makes you better when you start with a manual lens because it forces you to be more conscious of how your shooting and every aspect of what the camera is doing. When you do get a auto focus lens you will be more conscious of composition and not afraid to switch to manual later.
Have Ana amazing weekend and keep shooting!

I shot that same spot under the bridge when I first got my Fuji. Nice to see a local photographer on TH-cam! 👍🏽

@@jasonberkmanphotography8672 Absolutely! I’ve only ran into two other photographers during my street sessions so far but I’ve only been shooting for 3 months. Perhaps we’ll run across each other on the streets one of these days and get an impromptu street session going lol
Great content though, keep the vids coming my dude!

Is it compulsory for camera gear reviewers to wear baseball caps on backwards?
