You said "flip horizontal" when it should be flip vertical 💀

Fantastic. I've been using for years,like 20,the exact same method you . The only diferent thing I do, I apply a drop shadow to the up layer to and convert to regular layer, them erase the parts I don't need. Just to add some shadow ant the junction between bottom and inverted layer.
And a plus,on the inverted layer I apply a motion blur -90⁰ and them do the same you do with mask.
