Frank Ferguson probably has played more roles in just as many Westerns as any star of any series has acted. An unknown staple of the industry. Leading roles come and go but actors like Ferguson are around forever.
Yes, he was that. I often got a sense of "decency" emanating from him, on a personal level, that is outside of filming, in his private person. I hope I'm right.
The westerns...my favourite genre. But especially the older b/w tv series or movies. One particular that has more interest and I enjoy better than most is .. “Trackdown”... starring Robert Culp as Texas Ranger ‘Hobi Gillman.’ Interesting that in this role he is a lone ranger and not over done, for the most part he wins his conflicts with words and less use of his gun, he is under dressed, low voiced just as if he came out from the hills as a ranch hand. Simple rules and logic without the drama of the ‘Lone Ranger’, or ‘Walker Texas Ranger’. “Trackdown” also introduced many actors who later had fame in their own series, such as Michael Landon, Stuart Whitman, Lee Van Cleef and many others. “Trackdown” an underrated western of the fifties that is better than most. And a favourite of mine, to me the greatest American hero. ⚖️🇺🇸
This is awesome! Lampasas is my hometown. My great great grandmother Josephine Grizzel married my great great grandfather John Green. Her sisters all married Horrell brothers. Her father was James Geizzel. The Horrell brothers rustled cattle from the Higgins family and took them to Grozzel's butcher shop. That's what attracted the famous feud.

There were dozens of western series on in the late 50s. This was certainly one of the best. Thanks for posting some episodes.

Robert Culp was one of the best actors from an era when actors' careers lasted long enough for them to seem like old friends to their fans.
