THQ Nordic rolled out a day one update (vers. 1.0.2) that cleans up the frame rate quite a bit. It remains at 30FPS much more easily and often now. Although I did notice that some character model’s facial textures seem to have odd rendering errors now. Hopefully, another patch is in the works.

38 Studios did an amazing job on the combat mechanics of this game. The ability to chain attacks together in KoA is phenomenal. You could go with the rock melee ability to get your targets in the air, range them while airborne and then blast them away in a big spell. It felt so good that you could create your playstyle and it wasn't just a select amount of options.

Loved this review, spot on! Ordered the physical earlier today and can’t wait! I played the original back when it first came out and remember being blown away. Already have their remaster on PC, but the idea that it’s finally portable is something I’ve wanted for years! Can’t wait till it comes :) Definitely noticed some frame dropping, specially with mage when using tonnes of particle effects, but I’m sure they will release a patch! Fingers crossed!

I love your videos and listening to you talk! lol. I did play KOA on the 360 a few years ago and fell in love with it. Now that I have it on the PS4 Im excited to go back and finish the main game & xtra content. I dont have a Switch but if I did, I'd be playing KOA on it as well!

I played the game back on the Xbox 360. Absolutely loved it! And I'm glad I bought the Remaster! I bought the Fate Edition since I never got any of the DLC and I'm still playing it! I'm glad the game is getting more love and I enjoy your review, showing both it's pros and cons! And I look forward to the new DLC coming.

Thanks for the video. It helped me make the decision to pick up KoA at some point, depending on a sale and post release patches. But I have to disagree with the point made about gyro controls. Gyro would have been great when it comes to shooting arrows or aiming spells without struggling with aiming accurately strictly with dual analog. The best example I can give by comparison is how Warframe handles gyro controls on Switch especially in portable mode. Gyro does work without detaching the Joy-Con from the unit so the image of using motion controls on Switch similar to how the Wii remote worked is not accurate at all.
