Hell yes Nasser El Sonbaty was robbed around 1997! I didn't have internet back then and had to purchase FLEX magazines from the local grocery store to get information. To say the least, it was upsetting to see how Nasser was treated.

Huge Dorian fan but agree. One of very few Olympias were it was clear. Some say Shawn Ray shuld have taken it 94/96 but he was simply too small. Dorian still might have had 4/7 poses but that arm and that gut is not worthy of the title.
1000000% robbed, Nasser is the Mr Olympia 97, Not worth discussing. Anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding knows this too

No one taught him how to pose. He was absolutely awful at showing himself. Raised up angled arms in the front double. More overt angles in all his other poses... Posing is 70% of your physique. It's a game of shadows... He played a game of light and pride. He was truly awesome. An Alexander of the sport.
His back poses, he didn't squeeze the mid back, he never pulled his arms back far enough to activate that christmas tree like Yates did. He also never flexed his glutes. That made him look soft. Couple that with the visible injection spots on his biceps, and delts, the judges weren't going to place the title on him.
Everyone brings up Dorians mid section in '97 and his arm. When he flexed his ab and thighs pose, he looked better than Nasser in it. Better flow. The side poses, Dorian looked thicker overall. The back poses, Dorian won all of those. Give Nasser the front double biceps, but the front Lat spread, Dorian crushes him. Dorian beats him on at least 5 of the 7 poses with abs and thighs being close.

He was a HUGE dude. You almost have to wonder what the Judges were looking at, in the 97 Olympia Contest. I really liked Yates, and he truly was a Beast, but he literally had torn muscles that in this contest were very important. I mean, front, double Bicep?? One of the most important poses, and Dorian was like.... let's just say, at his worst in Olympia Contests he's taken part of. Other people have been ripped off in the Olympia Contest too, i suppose. But this had to be the most OBVIOUS, wrong placings. Course, after 1999, just about NOBODY had a chance against Coleman. He truly WAS a beast.

Nasser was good but I have to disagree with the title of this video..... one of the issues Nasser always battled during competition was his water retention.... he only looked really ripped when he flexed, if he relaxed the definition would dissappear... The good era of bodybuilding before the Growth Hormone Bloated Guts took over.

1996 was his best condition, if he brought that to 1997 I feel like he would have won. 1998 he also looked incredible, he should of gotten 2nd, he was more conditioned and bigger than Flex but that's just my uneducated opinion. His lower back never had detail but he was wide as a house while maintaining amazing aesthetics and symmetry. A top 5 bodybuilder of all time imo.
