You need to get a fully charged jump at the end of the ramp but some secret areas require you to hold the thumb stick forward or back as you jump. If I remember correctly for that jump you need to hold back.
When the ramp is more vertical like the one at the end of Metal City hold the analog back, when its more horizontal like the one at the start of Metal CIty hold fowards
any advice for the babylon garden mission 3? i have tried to copy your route exactly but i'm always about a second off, not sure what keeps going wrong
Pfft.... Noobs.. (Don't take it too seriously, I can understand why you thought it was hard. I'm a seasoned expert at both 1 and 2. Getting gold in mission mode is like walking my dog for me)
You need to win the gold medal in the Heroes Grand Prix to unlock the track and thus to unlock the missions. Same goes with Babylon Grand Prix to get Sega Illusion. To get the gold medal, you need to finish every race in first
While I was playing at this mode I noticed that the last pieces of some things are put very close to the finish line and also in some of the shortcuts.
I really want to get Super Sonic, but gold is too difficult to get. Every time I tried to jump off the top of the ramp in metal city, I didn’t get to the top. So, I give up.
If you're confused on jump heights then here's a little tip, one make sure you fully charge a jump before releasing it on a ramp and two its dependent on you either holding forward or back to get different jump angles, holding back and jumping will send you way higher and get you to that top path you were saying about whereas holding forward and jumping will send you farther forward, which is what you need to get to the top path on the first metal city ramp
I don't understand what you did throughout the entirety of the Sand Ruins 3rd Mission, I've tried going insanely fast but never have I ever flown out of that pit you come out of and the super jump onto the bottom half of the map to get to the Zip springs or jump extremely fast over to the inner part of the Sand Ruins, I also cant seem to get shot out of the Bow fast enough, even if I make it to the Bow faster or at the same time as you (I'm on PS2), so tips would be appreciated, please?
Alright, let me try to explain. I'm going to assume you're asking me about jump ramps. The direction you hold while charging a jump and the angle of the ramps determines your trajectory. If you hold forward, you go further, but if you hold back you get more air. The ramp in the pit at the start and the ramps in the temple are flat ramps. You want to hold forward before you jump off these while charging. For future reference, when jumping off a curved ramp, you want to hold back for more air to reach higher paths. For the bow, idk what you mean. I have never played the PS2 version. I'm assuming you're spinning the control stick to charge the bow. If it takes longer to launch or something, idk what's going on there.
Hmmm, never knew that, I'll keep that in mind, as for the Bow, whenever I get to it and I'm on par with you or slightly slower (not by much, but by a second) for whatever reason I get to the Bow damn near to the same time as you but it never shoots me fast enough in fact it takes, like 3 or 4 whole extra seconds just for it to fire, I've been struggling to get gold on that mission, it took me 60 tries just to even shred my time slightly lower than before but again, not by much, I don't really know if the games personally meant to be like that for PS2 but any other Race mission that I'm doing and followed 80% of your example, it's always made me get Gold (especially with the Energy Regen Stations near the end)
@@xerophantoms8971 im not sure if you are still confused and need help with this but ill put in my response. I've played Sonic Riders on PS2 and the control stick spinning ONLY affects whether you get sent onto the edge of the coliseum wall or in front of the entrance to the coliseum, it doesn't affect how fast you get shot forward (its very deceiving, i know)
@@Ace-qy8ce nope i completed it ages ago, sad thing is my PS2 has been sent to it's grave, it really is bad considering after i got Gold on everything i rather liked the good and bad experiences i had, the times i will miss playing my PS2, R.I.P 😥
@TwisterSanity If you're referring to the ramp that lets you skip the zip line up the tower, then to do that, you have to hold down when you release a charged up jump instead of up. This works for any ramp shortcut with a curved ramp, whereas holding up works for straight/inclined plane ramps. Another way to think of it is to hold up for a far jump and to hold down for a high jump.

Seriously though, how do you do those really high jumps? Like, to get to that high spot at the end of Metal City for an example.

You hold the stick upwards when you jump off the ramp.

HOW DO YOU GET GOLD ON THE TRAFFIE JAM ONE…
just avoid hitting traffic cars and be fast as possible
how do you get to sega carnival?
Gotta get a gold rank in the grand prix for the hero side, there's an unlock for doing it with the other grand prix too. Just play well and its easy
Do you have to use cheats to get yo to the top?
No, you do not need any cheat
nope, try holding the analog stick back as youre about to jump
