La salamandra cosica scores from critics shouldn’t sway your mind into thinking this was a bad game, you should come up with your own opinion. Honestly, regardless of how the critics felt, I felt this was a solid title and game... so many interesting characters and frustrating yet enjoyable levels

This is not a crossover, though. In order for it to be a crossover, there would have characters from other Sega franchises or franchises from other video game outside Sega.

Team Sonic: Flings of like a tornado. And Sonic just attacks everywhere
Team Chaotix: Obnoxious loud, unnecessary screwed up Music.
Team Rose: Since this game was made in Japan, why not make Team Rose do a similar Japanese thing?
Team Dark: Chaos Control + Lifted up lazer beam robot = Massive chaos.
Team Super Sonic: Same thing, but they just power up and move all around metal overlord.
Personal Favorite: Team Dark.

"Show me then! Show me what you are made of against this Brand New Me! As I am no longer afraid! I shall never be afraid of anything!" Metal Sonic was a lot more bellicose in the japanese version. His response to Sonic's saying "Let's show him what we're made of!", was awesome! I wish they could've translated what Metal Sonic said more accurately.

This game and mania is why metal sonic is my favorite villain in sonic the hedgehog history.

It’s a shame this game is as unpolished as it is; this could easily be one of the best 3D Sonic games for several reasons: The gameplay is focused and doesn’t derive from it, the graphics are beautiful for PS2/GC standards since this is what I think of when I imagine Sonic transitioning into 3D, the voice acting and lip syncing is miles ahead of the Adventure games, the Metal Sonic reveal was quite the treat, I love some of these characters’ personalities (Omega is my best boi), the level design is very open and rewards explorers, and the game was filled with memorable moments. With that said, this game also has some obnoxious downsides: if glitches aren’t of the exploitable kind, they’re the kind that work against you like switching rails or collision detection being finicky at points, every team goes through the same stages AND boss fights; with the only differences being the length and overall difficulty of each, every team that isn’t Team Rose has levels that go for far too long once you finish the Second Zone, Team Chaotix’s missions can be quite atrocious, the teams control-wise are NOT created equal, and the fact that you have to collect the Emblems to experience everything multiplayer has to offer is a step back from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It’s just my opinion and what I say shouldn’t dictate how you feel and whatever nostalgia you have for this game. Honestly, I’d say this game should get the remake treatment because if it can fix whatever problems I and other people had, this can become the next Sonic CD in going from one of the most divisive games to being agreed upon to being one of the best! What do you think?

Metal Sonuc basically pulled a Syndrome. He locked up the real Eggman and made a fake, so he could gain data on all 12 Sonic Heroes. He then uses said data to become the Metal Overlord.
Definitely one of my favorite Final Bosses ever in the Sonic series. If you're quick enough, like me, you can actually beat the Team Super Sonic section without hitting a single Ring Balloon. I always Homing Attack the blue energy spheres, I never Spin Dash.
P.S. BTW, Sonic fanbase, stop complaining about the PS2 version! I played Sonic Heroes on PS2 and nothing was wrong at all. AT ALL! And the game ran at 60fps.
I played the PS2 Version and I never seemed to have a problem with it as a kid.

Sonic The Hedgehog I'm surprised that they made Metal Sonic the final boss in this game.
I Actually never made it this far in the game because when I was a kid I could never find the 6th and 7th Chaos Emerald.
Just Another Lemon actually you need to keep the key for the special stages of Sonic heroes with out getting because getting you some how in up loseing the key for the special stages of Sonic heroes video game
My problem was child me got stuck on Egg Emperor for all four teams. My brothers couldn't beat him either. We knew there was something after Egg Emperor, but we could never get past it.

I was able to A Rank this boss on my first try on PS2 without that glitch.
This whole thing is Dr. Eggman's fault. He should have never created Metal Sonic in the first place.
So... The final story IS JUST the final boss...
Technically, the Adventure games did this too, but in SA1, you (kinda pointlessly) explored Mystic Ruins to get one last exposition dump before fighting Perfect Chaos and in SA2, you did that Mega-Level as one last test of everyone’s abilities; which while cool, was rather long for my tastes. Oh, and the Biolizard fight with Shadow just straight-up sucks, no arguing that. At least Final Hazard was a bit better, probably because Live & Learn is quite the sick song to end on.
