I find that Small Indexing Pry bars Work way better then thin blade flat heads to get the spark plug tube seals out just My experience being a Toyota Tech and Working on these engines for 24 plus years hope that idea helps you in the future 17:29 @Funjunkie Garage

Getting ready to do a in vehicle gasket change. I hope it goes smoothly. And next will be the timing belt. Got all the parts on the bench ready to go.

I would love to see where and how to replace the Crankshaft position sensor and the Camshaft position sensor with that engine so nicely exposed. That would be an enormous for me.
That engine has long since been installed. But I do have a different 3.4 out on the floor that I can do a video on. Thanks for the suggestion.
And thanks for watching and supporting my channel.
@mcfmwjd Wanted to let you know I did a quick video on those sensors and it will be out tomorrow morning.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
Life would be easier if the engine were out for these types of repairs. 😛
It is nice when they're out.
Thanks for watchin and commenting!
Wow they half assed the Spark plug tube Seals they are usually brittle and Falling apart
I was surprised how well they came out myself.
@@funjunkiegarage they normally don't come out that easy but I also had them come out really easy on a reason job a week ago
Great job, 👏👍
Awesome.
Thank you.

Can i borrow your Suzuki? I just dont think i can finish the job without one. Nice video dude. Thanks for the help
Hahahaha, the hood of any cheap car will do the job
Thanks brother.
You're welcome.

Is it necessary to apply sealer to the specified critical points around the cylinder head, particularly at the corners of the half moons? I saw in another video where the tech replaced the half moons and gave a modest squirt at the corners where leaks can occur. Great videos though. Thanks
Yes I agree it is necessary.
Thank you, happy to hear you enjoy my videos.
I really appreciate your support of my channel.
Hey thanks for the great video! Did you buy a full kit to do this? Did it come with all gaskets etc you needed etc?
You're welcome and thank you for the support.
I bought a valve cover gaskets set. It came with the v.c. gaskets and the spark plug tube seals.
I also bought an upper intake gasket set, comes with the 2 gaskets for the plenum.
I didn't do the cam plugs or seals because they were not an issue.
Hope this helps.
Have a great day.
Hello please I have a valve cover gasket leak. I don't have enough time and money to do this. The leak is minor but I want to know if my engine will be blown if I keep driving it with this oil leak?
No, an oil leak won't cause an engine to blow up unless it runs out of oil. Just keep the level correct.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for watching and asking
@@funjunkiegarage thank you very much.
You're welcome.
If possible, take a 10mm socket and an extension and see if you can tighten the bottom bolts on each valve cover. Not too tight but often they need a little snug up. That may help slow the leak.
@@funjunkiegarage thanks. Please I have another question. I left my car with my neighbor for a week. And this morning he brought me it back with issues. The automatic transmission doesn't drive when shifting into (R) reverse. But in drive (D) the car runs perfectly and shift into all gear. My question is do I have a transmission problem? Changing ATF can fix it?
Have you checked the linkage?
Have you checked the fluid level?
Not sure why it would not have reverse, but I'd check those first.
You forgot cam seals and the half moons??????? Only a partial job
I didn't forget them, I didn't intend to change them. Just a simple valve cover gasket replacement.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I feel sorry for that cheap Suzuki, he deserves better.
If the poor thing wasn't rusted out underneath it would have had a different fate. Fun car to drive.
