    Have 2121 carbon with turbo front wheel drive love this car. Hate active cruise control. I just shut it off. Also shut of lane change feature. Live in fla don't care about heated seats or steering wheel. Really like this car. Recommend it

    Hi, Have one of them at adout the same age. Totally agree enjoy driving it yes the cup holders are too far back. With the cruise control for highway I set it at 4 bars distance which is about 120 feet and in town set at 2 bars distance. Its all about safety but them slow acceleration is a bit off putting after you have slowed down when somebody turns off in front of you. Fuel economy is what is about. Great vehicle and enjoy the driving experience.

    Spot on review! Just bought a pre-owned 2021.5 Signature (Turbo/AWD: US model) yesterday. It rides firm (which I prefer), but the soft Nappa leather front seats need better cushioning for my tush. May not have all of the most up to date tech, but sure has a lot more than my old 2011 CX-5, and since that one has over 185k miles on it (all original), I figured Mazda earned my trust. Android Auto works great too. Can't wait for a road trip (and some tunes and audio books).

      Yes, it has been a while since I made the video, and the car is still stellar. Excellent road trip car! Also tows surprisingly well.

      You are aware some mazda 2021 turbo engines had faulty valve seals leading to excessive oil consumption?

    I would probably never use adaptive cruise control anyway, so no problem there. Great review! I'm a hot freak so ventilated seats would be awesome. 😎

    I'm interested in getting a CX-5 this year. I'm undecided if I should get a naturally aspirated Carbon Edition or the Turbo. It's about $5000 more for the Turbo model here in the US. You do also get the ventilated seats and heads up display on the turbo that you don't get on the Carbon Edition. Other than that, it's the same car for $5000 less with better gas mileage. Sounds like the reviewer likes the turbo. I've never heard such a detailed explanation of how it works. I do enjoy quick cars but I haven't had one for a while. So fun vs. practicality.

    I drive the cx30 2021 this car had the normal lock and open function, I come to the car it unlock and I close the door and it locks without doing anything, so walk away and it close automatically. It's a beautyfull and perfect car only the same the radar cruisecontrole and speed that could better,I have the e skyactive x engine and I drive easy 5,5 ltr a 100 km

    it's very hard to name lane keep assist an advantage, when kia/huyndai/honda offers great lane centering assist which keeps car in center of the lane for you in the same car class for the same price.

    I really like my CX 5 !!! My biggest gripe for me is the suspension. Too stiff !!! Some say it's because I have "19 rims and should do it down to "17 rims. Near future I will be changing them.

    • @that_jamesguy
      @that_jamesguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seems to be normal for most newer cars. As stiff as it is, it does handle big bumps fairly well.

    I was considering buying a sport design turbo one, in black. I'm kinda wanting to get rid of my 2019 Ford Escape, issues. Would it be a good upgrade for me? I took a 21 one for a test drive. How much are your gas fill ups on average? Gas is like 1 70 ish here in ontario.

    • @that_jamesguy
      @that_jamesguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will love the upgrade to the CX-5 in driving dynamics comparted to the Ford! One complaint with the CX-5 (that I did not mention) is the small fuel tank size (58L), so it doesn't go THAT far compared to other vehicles. Let's say 50L on a fill = $85 for you = 588 km highway / 476 km city.

    I have the 2021.5 Mazda CX-5 Kuro edition. Love the look, wish I had the faster engine like you do! I am not averaging 8.6L/100KM though. More like 10.5L. Does the slower engine burn more gas?

    • @that_jamesguy
      @that_jamesguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the turbo uses more fuel.
      If you’re only driving in the city 10.5 or higher will be normal. My “in town” driving still has a bit of highway as well.

    Any issues with seat comfort?? I am about your build, tad shorter and have yet to get comfortable, my lower back starts bothering me. Was not noticeable on the test drive as they don't let you go very long or far with it.

    The radio volume button on the console is also a mute button. I wish it would turn the radio off because when I restart the car, the radio automatically comes on. I haven't found a wsy to turn the radio off without going like 3 clicks deep in the infotainment system. Annoying! Other than that, I love my 2021 CX-5!

    • @that_jamesguy

    isn't the adaptive cruise separate from the emergency braking feature so you could turn that part off?

      Yes, that is correct. But the “scared” cruise control around tight corners cannot be switched off.
