One time I saw these guys live and they shouted out to the crowd "Hey which song should we play next?!" and some dude shouted "Finite!" and they were like "Ok" and played it at the drop of a misplaced hat. These guys are legendary.
I was at a show one time and they didn't play this song. Some kid came up and asked the guitar player why they didn't play and he said something about how it's about his grandmother dying and he didn't want to keep playing it over and over.
bruh have you heard Nocturnus, no band compares to there album the key when it comes to death metal and space!! check them out its legendary, they arent as technical but the atmosphere speaks for itself
I was upset when Stone Cold Steve Austin stopped wrestling professionally. Now that I know he plays guitar and does backing vocals for this metal band I feel better.
Saw them today for the first time. Not many people there. At one point i was the only guy banging like a madman and at one point the singer points at me and another guy and he's like: ''Ok, now we're going to have a wall of death, but it seems it's going to be 1 v 1. This guy *points at me* vs that guy.'' It was quite fun.
Ha..... I stage dived at one of their shows and no one was there to catch me. Jason pulled me up on stage, put his arm around me and put the mic up to my face. Best dumbass move of my life
@@justinalexander8524 same thing happened to me ... was like 20 peeps seeing origin and john asked for a stage diver and thought fuck it its gonna have to be me ....jumped but then the people who did catch me through me back on stage ....
I usually am not much a tech-death guy, but I fucking love this shit. No doodly-dooldy wankery for the sake of cramming as many notes in a song as possible. This is just pure awesomeness.
Tyler Blanchard Agree, it's more about the furious tremolo than just widdling non-stop at every opportunity. Speed's impressing, but it can also be boring!
I don't understand. This song and the band is the ultimate "throw in as many notes as fast as we can" type band and song ever. You're going to shit on tech death and then appreciate this? What tech death are you listening to?
I actually got the opportunity of seeing Origin live when they were touring for "Echoes of Decimation" and they were mindblowing! Their bass player is beyond logic (My drummer asked him how he did it and he told him "lots of Red Bull) and the rest of the band is amazing as well!
Lars Bo Nepper The only band that I agree is more technical than this one, out of those you named, is Behold… The Arctopus, the others aren't as technical as Origin, anyway I don't think Origin is the most technical band I know, but it's at least the fifth. I think BLotted Science, Viraemia and Spawn of Possesion are even more technical than Origin, but not those band you mentioned, they are more complex and better arrangements, but seriously, listen to this.
Always will remember the advice vocalist James Lee gave me in a heavy metal parking lot in Little Rock, Arkansas. Paul Ryan and the others were genuine too. Good times
James was such a fucking dick to me after a show years back. He was drunk though and we all have our moments so I can't say it was reflective of his overall character but ya....he really was an asshole in that moment.
Anthony I Ah damn I hate when that happens. Sometimes I make it a point not to meet my favorite musicians because I don’t want them to ruin their music for me because a lot of them are pretty grouchy hah. Except Sammy from Goatwhore, he straight up hugged me when I went to shake his hand after my set. Damn I miss the days of old.
I feel like this origin album, antithesis, had that more than any other album. I remember listening to it for the first time and barely being able to hear the vocals. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Almost like a "all instruments are created equal" sound.
@blakemorgan8845 The final mix... The vocals are pretty low. I have an unmixed version of Antithesis from the day I finished the vocals. And I think it's better than the final version 😄 Still this is my fav album I did with them. For many reasons.
that's super cool! :D if it's not too personal; mind if i know where he works? I've always wondered where these godly metal icons earn their living since metal doesn't pay the bills for most...
Wow, now that I got into Tech-death I can really appreciate how awesome this is :) It used to think this was so hard to enjoy and listen to, but now that I got used to it I can say that I love it!
I was searching on youtube for "finite state machine" videos, this came as a suggested search when I was typing in "finite". Thank god I decided to check it out.

just got the tab and learned the guitar part, or at least enough of it so you can recognize the song. These guys play very very fast
Why not to try a banjo cover of this?
Did NOT expect to see you here.
Errr. hell-o, blast from the past!
Punk ass Rob
When people play so relaxed it’s hard to tell how fast it is until you try to keep up yourself...learned that being on a drum line hahaha
I’ve always loved Origin cause they blend two things I love dearly: Space, and Death Metal.
Fuck yeah !!!!!!!! Cosmic death metal !!!!!!¡!!!
Wormed does that too, but better.

criminally underrated band is all i can say.
Apparently this song is so intense that the mere thought of playing it causes the band members to sweat before they've even started.
No this isn't even a hard one lol.
I am the vocalist in this video.
This is fairly laid back 😆
@@drippingdead11 Haha, whaaat. That's pretty awesome, but my decade old comment was just jokes. The room *does* look a bit on the warm side.
@Shinji735 All good.

These guys crush live, too. Sounds just like the studio versions and super intense.
I listen to this every day
Some would argue that a song can be overplayed, this song disproves that, non-stop repeat and I still love it!
I love how the vocals don't overpower the whole song. That's kinda rare these days.
