Thank YOU! I just discovered this while trying to interest a good friend in seeing this show. She somehow never heard about La Cage. She is forced to be sheltering in place in a home for senior citizens right now 5/22/2020 during the Pandemic. By posting this she will be able to really enjoy some of the best theatre out there. Thank YOU all for posting this! The woman who will see it is also a very gifted musician so what a gift this will be for her! I hope all of you everywhere are staying safe and doing what you need to do to survive our economic and health challenges!
So pleased I found your post of this. I saw the Australian production which was wonderful, but there are no films of it. This was just as good. Thank you very much.
wow, this is great..never seen a better George ! I loved the revival with Gary Beach but the show I attended was marred by a wooden semi-comatose Robert Goulet as George...and about the latest revival the less said the better...this however is as it should be ..with love and spark and terrific voices...MUCH better than the original french boulevard farce
I can't say anything about those costumes, but The reason there is no kiss at the end is because of Arthur Laurents the director of the original Broadway production. He didn't allow the two to kiss in that production and it appears this production followed suit. According to Harvey Fierstein the writer of the show's book, Harvey: "No Arthur wouldn't let them kiss, He wouldn't even let them hold hands." Michael: "why?" Harvey: "It was Arthur."(Theatre Talk) Source: “Theater Talk: Harvey Fierstein on ‘Hairspray LIVE!".” TH-cam, TH-cam, 17 Oct. 2016, th-cam.com/video/3IUdlDEMA8Q/w-d-xo.html Quote: 10:00

Great work. Thanks!
Wow Loved it.
What a great professional production. The performances were phenomenal!
I'm pretty sure this was the road company of the original Broadway show. Same sets, costumes, choreography. And a Broadway star in the lead.
unbelievable!!! Best I've seen.

Lee Roy Reams sounds so much like Nathan Lane when he TALKS NOT SING ,LOVE IT SO MUCH
Jacob was perfect
Fucking exquisite!!!
Alaska has nothing on Zaza
Sasha Velour has nothing on Zaza
Hey MT gang 😉
Is the actor who plays Jacob the same actor who played Donkey in Shrek on Broadway?
I don't think so. Not the original Donkey, anyway.
Does anyone else think that this Deputy Dandon looks like Bernie Sanders LOL
: you
WHo is playing Georges in this production?
George McDaniel
Ric, wasn't Larry Kert supposed to play Georges? Or was he to play Albin? I remember this production so well.
