BUT he has two daughters. He should have learned "genuine, nurturing, loving family experience" as a father. At this point, he is using his "traumatic" childhood as an excuse to be stubborn, selfish, and self-righteous.

That possessiveness, those outbursts, his belief that he is entitled to all of her attention is burdensome. It's draining. It creates too much conflict and drama and gets in the way of her opportunities for personal growth. She'd be too busy trying to fix him to have peace. I'm sooo glad she made the choice to drop that heavy load

It’s an issue of who is her #1 focus. When you marry your spouse should be your #1 not saying sisters, brothers, and even children are not part of the circle. When minor children are involved the dynamic is different and a lot trickier because minor children must always be the primary focus of the parents. The groom needs therapy to heal his broken childhood before he is prepared for marriage and Connie will have to find her place with Monique if they go ahead with the wedding. Monique and her sister can still stay close but she will need to accept the couples union as their primary focus and see them as one after the vows, and that can be difficult when the two sisters were previously each others primary go to person. Wish them all Blessings and Love regardless .

No. Not helping her sister, taking so much time. She admits that the one letter she had to write for her took quite a bit of time. She was writing it and rewriting it. And I know that their jobs aren’t just 40 hour jobs. So any extra time she had was away from the relationship.

This guy is not terrible. I relate to his story a lot. He just needs to continue doing the work he has started.
Speaking from experience if the potential spouses can't get along with the others families genuinely and the families don't get along...it is probably won't work and will cause consistent strain on the relationship.
