Even in the beginning it didn't seem too over the top for me, but as you learn their dynamic, it starts to explain it more. Key thing I love that's really cultural is that the only person that calls Bakugo by a friend nickname, Kachan, is Deku. And he answers him every time. That told me there was more there

I really love your reaction to these episodes, especially the bakugo katsuki origin. Everything that you guys said about katsuki is really valid, and it's okay to not like him. Yes he is the fans favorite (including me). But like you guys said, there's so much that he has to learn, to better himself. Yeah it's kinda frustrating to see him always like this, like why he can't just listen and try to be cooperative, but yk aizawa himself said before the exam that Katsuki is becoming worse than before. You see in ep 20, when the class saw izuku using full cowling for the first time, he saw izuku kinda copy his moves and become better, but katsuki himself felt like he didn't get any better at his internship. I think he was frustrated and the rage finally blew up when they were paired with e/o to fight AM. And he actually listened at first when izuku said what his plans, and he said we should beat AM up, but Izuku sees there's no point to fight AM and they should run away, so yk he felt pointless to talk with Izuku if Izuku just wanna run away. This is really interesting to me, because at first we can see that izuku is right, but later on we can see that katsuki is also right because you can't run from AM and have to fight him. I'm not trying to justify katsuki behavior, he's still an asshole and punching your teammate just because you're frustrated is no good, but yk i just wanna give you guys some perspective from his side. There's a line that i love when AM is describing their relationship, about how they always fall apart when it's about e/o that they don't even know to communicate with e/o, and you really can see that in this ep
I also want to point out that the title with "origin" or "start line" or "rising" is always lit. The origin is about the motivation or what their drive to become a hero, like in this ep we can see that katsuki drive is his drive to always win (fun fact the name katsuki itself means 'to win'). It's completely opposite from izuku's motivation to save people. It's really interesting that there are some different motivations to become a hero, and yes it's interesting how izuku is the 'only' one that really want to become hero to save people. You'll see more about this in the future. And for the rising episode, it's usually about the peak or top developments of the characters, like with yaoyorozu momo rising, we can see how momo developments and overcoming her insecurities. The "start line" ep is about the first step how they change or become better. So far we get 2 "start line" ep (izuku and katsuki), 3 "origin" ep (izuku, katsuki, shouto), and 1 "rising" ep (Momo).

Bakugos so good at working together with people but he’s also so bad at it cause he hates it so much
I'm glad ya'll are open and honest. I used to absolutely detest Bakugo but he's grown to become one of my favorites. What I've concluded from this episode is that Bakugo is trying so hard to prove himself and win against Izuku b/c he is starting to feel like he's falling behind him. Izuku beat him in s1, then when the Sport's Festival came around Bakugo watched Shoto go 100% against Izuku, but Shoto didn't return the favor for him (cuz trauma), however Bakugo didn't see it that way. He didn't perceive the Sports Festival as a win and I don't think he ever does in the future. Then, in the internship he felt like he didn't learn anything and boom!, Izuku comes back using his "moves" and flying around like a badass. So he's thinking, oh ok, I can finally beat him in the final exam and prove to myself I'm not falling behind and am stronger. Nope, gets paired with Izuku, who insists they don't fight. Tells him they need to run away. Notice that when Izuku says Bakugo can't beat All Might or win, that's when he hits him (not the correct response by any means, but that's kind of where I felt he finally snapped). Izuku, someone he is at this point spitefully jealous of, tells him he can't win the exam, something he is desperate for at this point in time, resulting in him lashing out in built up anger. In conclusion, UA needs to hire some therapists.
With the series ended i just watch reactions to old stuff now 💀. You guys had the best reaction to this ep. People either combusted at bakugo or they just straight up were glazing him this ep. You guys were in the perfect middle ground

The Secret of NIMH was a fire book and great series of movies too. And it's ok to not like certain characters, they are written like that. But it's a reason why MHA is tied as my #1 anime with Naurto. The characters grow immensely.
But I wish I could see prime All Might...it would be ridiculous

hated bakugo my first watch but after rewatching it he grew on me genuinely seeing how similar he is to izuku on their appreciation and admiration towards all might but they show it differently
When it comes to Mineta I like to think that they said this moment him for how clever he is by him ranking 9th overall in the midterm exams among class 1A
