- Gayatri of Ranjani - Gayatri duo sings an old Hindi film classic "Poocho Na Kaise" along with a Bhajan in an improvised medley from different genres. This piece in Raga Ahir Bhairav seamlessly flows between the song immortalized by Mannade ji and the Tulsidas Bhajan.

i have listened to this old hindi song scores of times but gayatri has managed to link the soulful rendering of manna dey with tulsidas's bhajan in a way i would have never thought possible.

Pls do more . You both (Ranjani mam and you ) are the foremost and elites among musicians and may you continue to be so without any roadblocks in your journey . Such a spiritual rendition, and its spirituality is uplifted by the beautiful backdrop. I wondered where it is.....pray do tell me. As a 71 year old, living in Montreux, Switzerland, it is my dream to introduce carnatic music to this town, as it is world famous for its annual jazz festival. But to be able to organise a carnatic music festival for just a week, and if feasible, even a combo carnatic-cum-hindustani (North Indian) music festival would make me so joyous. I've heard R&G in person in both Chennai and KL (am Malaysian), the latter likely in 2002/3. Now I long to come back to Mylapore, stay in our little 1BHK along Kutchery Road, during Marghazi, and do many repeats of the joyous existence I've experienced at so many venues, all within 20-30 mins walks from my modest apartment.

As the Advaita philosophy says that the soul and the Brahmam are one. Similarly when you sing the low notes we still feel the presence of Ranjani akka. Though she isn't seen in the video, your work makes us feel that both of you are together. 😀
