Hi Robin, that was not the intention, being based in West Hollywood everything past La Brea on the 10FWY, I have always considered a part of W LA. Given my Aunt lived in Baldwin Hills until she passed, I've always thought of View Park, Ladera Heights as part of W LA. You are absolutely accurate - South LA. Will update in the notes.
Lance, unfortunately it has been changing, that's not my doing. My aunt lived in Baldwin Hills (not a white woman)... I have nothing but absolute respect for the area and wish it would remain the predominate community it has been for years!
@@CorrieSommersLuxuryRealtor But your video is basically trying to sell to non-black people and we are a historically black neighborhood. That doesn't sound like respect for our community or its history
Your video is a thinly veiled attempt to market to white people given that on July 12, 2016 View Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places based on the large number of African American home owners. Stating that lots of 'non-Blacks' are moving into the area as part of your marketing effort is highly offensive and a poor attempt to be a gentrifying colonizer.
5/1/2021: To everyone, initially I had revealed personal information about myself that I shouldn't have to disclose. I sell real estate. I am in no way trying to hurt anyone, in no way attempting “to be a gentrifying colonizer". I did not create this video with the intent or purpose of trying to steer anyone into this neighborhood or to scare them away. This video is part of a series going over the various neighborhoods of Los Angeles. While I truly stand by everything I previously said, I shouldn't have to bare my soul and family history for someone who has come at me assuming and accusing just to clarify or defend myself. I will keep part of my initial response up but I have as of today edited out the personal information previously shared. @lori glasgow Lori, I’m sorry you feel that way. The goal in these videos on the neighborhoods of Los Angeles was to celebrate and acknowledge its rich history not a “thinly veiled attempt to market to white people” or to aid in gentrification. Given you don’t know me don't know my family background or what countries I've lived in, you don't know that I am the LAST person on the planet to have racists thoughts or opinions. If you saw the videos on Baldwin Hills, Ladera Heights and View Park, or the videos on Culver City and Beverly Hills you will find I have in the most professional way possible expressed some of my OUTRAGE to the racist history in Los Angeles. This is a real estate video, there are many areas of Los Angeles that are diverse with a rich history that should be celebrated. I assure you, I am not attempting “to be a gentrifying colonizer". If you would like to share your personal email or number, I would happily speak with you directly.
@@CorrieSommersLuxuryRealtor Thank you for your response. I can tell from your response that you have strong feelings about race matters and I appreciate that. I urge you to look up the concept of 'racial macro aggression' because it has nothing to do with how many black people you know. While I appreciate your sentiments, your video appears to be marketed to white people to allay their fears that View Park is still a black neighborhood. Also, gentrification is a real thing that is happening to my beloved View Park and it hurts to watch it and to watch those who are advancing it. I have lived in Los Angeles my entire life and have dreamed of being able to live in View Park all my life. I finally was able to move here in 2010 only to see that it is no longer a majority black community. Given the history of Black people in America, beginning with slavery, to live in a prosperous, thriving black neighborhood was a dream I've had for my entire life. I will DM you my contact information so we can discuss this issue further.
View Park is not in West LA it’s in South LA, you’re saying it’s in West LA to appeal to a certain client base...

Beautiful home
STAY OUT!!! Please let Black folk have SOMETHING to ourselves. It is also NOT apart of West LA. It is SOUTH LA.

Thanks for participating in the gentrification of my neighborhood.
