We do these in Germany, but they are Nackensteaks (Neck Steaks). It’s a similar cut to the shoulder. I believe an American pork butt does contain a portion of the German Schweinenacken. Try a little thinner cut and marinate overnight in a beer, onion, spice and mustard marinade. Then direct grill.
I got a outstanding price on my picnic shoulders but I paid 20$ to have them sliced up into stakes were can I find the blade like the one you used ? & I love the way you cook it and thanks for letting us know the temperature 🌡️ that is so important to me cause I don't want to goof things up 🤔 God bless you & America and Israel 😎
Those look great - I think you are in Dallas - the butchers over at Central Market will cut the pork shoulder into steaks at no cost if you don’t want to break out the saw next time - how about a direct heat brisket ? I am going to try to do a direct heat clod this weekend - keep the direct heat videos going !
That’s great to know. Will definitely use them next time. Love pulling out the saw but I seem to ruin a cutting board every time. A direct heat brisket is definitely on the to do list. Good luck with the clod!

Love the videos! Keep ‘em coming!
Pork steak is one of the best bites in bbq
Agreed!
Must agree!
Shoulder steaks are what I consider the “ribeye” of pork!

Bone-in pork butts are common in all of the grocery stores in Dallas
Gonna be trying this out sometime this month. Flavor looks off the charts
they look great!! I've never actually had a pork steak from the shoulder before, going to have to try that, another fine video mate 👌🏼
Thank you!
Looks delicious! Will give it a try myself.

Thank you!

Drew - I just picked up some lamb shoulder chops - about 1.5 inches thick - think I can do something similar with these
That’s awesome! I love lamb and bet it’s fantastic over direct heat
I thought you were going to add beer...😮 How does putting them in aluminum foil but back on the fire cool them down?
They finished cooking in the aluminum foil on the pit. Then they were pulled and rested in the foil
Great job they look good. How you like the chud box thinking of getting one?
Thanks! Love the Chudbox. It’s my favorite thing to cook on
What brand is the Chudbox and where can it be purchased?

What temp do you think it was carried to ?
That’s a good question. I didn’t temp them for a while after pulling so I’m not sure
