Liverpool fan, but credit to him for keeping his humour about a dire situation; he seems very decent- that club is run like an absolute circus. Even if they don’t drop, they’ll still be in huge trouble long term under any manager (though it doesn’t help they’re managed by Lampard😂🤷🏼♀️)
Agreed as a Liverpool supporter of 30+ years i do not want Everton to go down. I think most Liverpool supporters would agree. Sure want them to do shite lol but not get relegated. Actually have to admit i kind of want them to do slightly better than shite lol. I want them to be decent. Got respect for Everton. Solid fanbase apart from the actual bitters that are... bitter lol, great ground and atmosphere, historic club, in a brilliant city. they deserve better than relegation places. Gary does make me laugh... He's 50% spot on and 50% completely delusional. I can't work out if he's on the wind up half the time or just so wrapped up in what he thinks man utd are versus other clubs stature.
Getting top 4 to compete for titles is a massive step. Arteta can get us top 4 but I dont think arteta has the ability to take us to the next level (winning titles and CL). Gary is spot on. It reminds me a lot of Man Utd more than liverpool. United dropped their standards and the fans was getting behind the team. With Liverpool, not only did they have a world class manager, but also made the best recruitment. Yes top 4 is as step the right direction but lets not forget we were consistently in the top 4 when Wenger was in charge but could not get past the round of 16 in the champions league.

He wouldn't also have survived managing Wenger's era of Arsenal either, he is better off managing this version of Arsenal because it's suits him, fans like him, media likes him, club has no ambition to really win anything, it's not a big deal if they lose games or not make top 4, they are just okay with whatever.

To be fair to the guy, I felt similarly when United were on that insane form of Leagues and CL final runs around 08-11.
Every year I expected League plus another trophy. I used to think "League should be in the bag, hope we win CL".
But, I was barely 15.
Every single Overlap episode are unbelievably good. I enjoy this waaaay more and I think its because of Gary, Jamie and Roy being more as themselves, honest, relaxed and no pressure. The banter are all amazing too. Thank you Sky.

Roy Keane is so humble. Always talks up the players and leaders around him at the time, and says he was never the best player. He in fact was often the best player on the pitch for Man Utd, and was one of the best all round players in Europe in a phenomenal era for football.

I thought the same thing. To be honest, if we finish 6th I'm not that disappointed since it's better than eighth and our players have a LONG way to go before reaching anywhere near their potential. Plus, they talk about bringing in superstars as important for Arsenal... whilst that would be helpful, I think they're missing the point that we're BUILDING superstars.
As a United fan I've been impressed with what Arteta has done, no matter where they end up this season. I'm sure he learned a few things from Wenger and Pep. He works well with young players but you still need at least one or two really top calibre players to get past that ceiling.

An engaging discussion. Always a treat to hear Gary, Roy, Jamie, and Josh talk shop. The more intimate Sky Bet studio is a far better conversational platform for insightful football analysis, in my view, than the recent Manchester Apollo Overlap with 2,700 fans in attendance. I wish more time had been devoted to non-top-six clubs, however. Barely a mention (if at all) of Norwich, Brentford, Brighton, Southampton, Leicester, Villa, Wolves, and/or West Ham, for example.

Carragher is spot on with Arsenal. Might not be winning anything but there's something good going on there. I know it's not on the same level but very similar with my local side Plymouth- we're not top of the league but we're in the playoffs, the football is good and the fans love the manager

This truly is a great format. Combining the traditional football punditry with the newer football youtubers works very well.
You are right sir, the reason this works so well is because these TH-camrs can actually articulate their views and put forward a paletable debate as opposed to the previously attempted conversations with fans outside the ground who just come across as absolute morons, holding the mic unto a 12 yo fans asking for a score prediction is shit nobody wants to see.

Would love for them to be a monthly thing and each episode to be abit longer and talk more about the other clubs in the PL. Villas potential, ,Brightons football under Potter, Moyes brilliant job at West Ham for example.

This proved the mentality that United used to have Under Ferguson with Keane as captain, United need to get this mentality back into the club asap.

This is exactly why United are in the mud, and out of all the legendary players for United who went into coaching, apart from Rooney, they’re all crap. You can’t just buy the best players in the league and hope they’ll outplay the opposition anymore.
It's gonna be problematic when the Glazers are absolutely satisfied with a fourth place finish & after all these years that attitude has filtered down through the club to the player's. As long as they make the Champions League that's job done but the problem with that is finishing fifth or sixth is always a danger. Watching Utd against Leicester, Jesus looks like the white flag has already gone up & they're already settling for the Europa League/Conference.
So refreshing having a sensible Arsenal fan on this time.

Naturally being a United supporter i HATED Vieira back in the day but that was because he was the main man on our biggest rival but always had respect and fear for this talents.
If you haven't watched Keane and Viera best of enemies you should it's fantastic. I don't think there will ever be a rivalry like it ever again in the premier league but as you say the mutual respect is great to see.

As a Liverpool fan, I have to say I love Gary Neville these days. He's obviously a millionaire as a presenter at Sky Sports but he's courageous enough to raise the important questions and speak up for working class fans. Football is heading into very dark places unless we get the big changes that he's demanding.

So everyone else is aiming for fourth. If Arteta wants to win the league it will have to be with one of those teams or in another league is what I think he meant.

@@dt5beats892 he's won 7 ballondors mate, and even if you don't agree with him winning the 7th, he was still miles better than ronaldo. Most balondors ever, most individual awards ever, therefore he is the best player ever, even though he has been poor so far this season, he has already done enough to prove he is the greatest of all time and its not exactly like ronaldo has been phenomenal this season. Guy has had maybe 2 or 3 games reminiscent of the old Ronaldo so far.

At 34 Ronaldo knocked Atletico out of the UCL with a hat trick. He’s on a different level to Messi, I know it’s hard to admit for you Ronaldo haters but it’s the truth. @@dt5beats892 I would just like to start off by saying I am not a Ronaldo hater, love the guy and am in constant awe and admiration of what he does. What I will say though is that you can't say one player is better than another by saying that one is better than the other at a particular point in time. I could just as easily say that messi had 4 balondors at 24 and ronaldo only had 1, but they have both played 10 years of football since then, so you have to consider their career as a whole. I believe that since Messi has won more than Ronaldo both, individually and team trophies + has better stats + does things on a football pitch that are near superhuman, he is the greatest to ever play the game. However, like you say, each and every person has their own opinion and believing Ronaldo is the best ever certainly isn't a bad one and you seem like a solid person, so enjoy the rest of your day.

Feedback: - Great show for the most part. But would it be possible to do a part 2 to talk about the other clubs in the league? I'm an Everton fan and delighted to hear about my team, even though we're terrible at the moment. But it would have been nice to hear from a Burnley, Watford or Norwich fan when it comes to relegation. Or even a Brentford fan since they aren't safe yet. I don't think Southampton, Brighton, and some others even got mentioned during the entire hour and a half. Wolves got a passing mention and they've been one of the talking points of the season. Also what about West Ham and the job Moyes has done? Again, it's been 27 minutes on Man Utd (which is an interesting topic, don't get me wrong) and then nothing on other clubs. There are 20 teams in this league. Try to talk about all of them, even if it is only a few minutes. Also lastly, a longer Q&A, please. Overall I actually think you need two 1.5 hour videos of content to cover the whole league. Spread out the big clubs across both videos to guarantee views. Though football fans are football fans. We eat this up regardless. Either way, love the videos, please keep them coming. And the trio of Nev, Keane, Carra is the best so far. But if you know someone else to throw a spanner in the works and add a bit of extra banter would be good. Also preferably not Utd or Liverpool influence. Anyway cheers, take it easy.

The thing is who would actually care about some of them teams. How much is there to say about Norwich?? They aren’t good enough for the premier league but are too good for the championship.
Burnley and Watford a championship level teams.
And what can you say about Southhampton and Brighton. They’re both clear of any sign of relegation but they aren’t having a major successful season (fighting for a trophy)
I'm a united fan and even I thought why we talking about us for so long and some of the people that were sat there that obviously never got a word in edgeways I agree either just make it 2 hours or into two parts we as football fans in general want to hear from all the clubs and whats happened from the start to the end of the season!
Great insight into Maguire's struggles from roy....I think taking the captaincy off him will either leave him with a point to do or destroy his united career... although I fear the latter cos I believe he's still affected by the Greece incident.
