I agree this is a total masterpiece...this guy is doing magic turning nothing into this absolute masterpiece of a layout..I never knew how amazing and real N gauge looks but in HO scenery...absolutely stunning and nothing short of magic.
Inspiring. I've never thought about having so many elevations like a highway above the rails which are above a river. Thanks and continue the fantastic work!
Thanks Tom. Fortunately the area being modelled offers the opportunity to include highway three above the railroad running along Summit Lake. Appreciate the visit. -grant
Thanks John. There are a bunch of detailed scenery videos in the members section covering various topics. In addition to the current backdrop series you can find topics such as rockwork, rip rap, river beds... tree placement for visual enhancement etc. Feel free to pop over and have a look at the channel. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I really appreciate the comment. -grant
Grant your layout proves that N scale is just as good, if not better than HO. Gentler curves, longer trains, etc. I always say if you get the right rolling stock in N its just as good as the HO counterparts. Really nice to see someone spend the time and effort to modifying N scale locos/rolling stock as well! We need more extremely prototypical N scalers like you and I!!!
Hey thanks! N scale certainly has it's advantages when it comes to curves and long trains. The cost is all the mods that have to be done to get trouble free operation. Products are getting better and better though so I find I'm not having to chop up the new stuff quite like I had to in the past! Cheers. -grant
Thanks Boomer, still piles of work to go of course. Taking a breather before painting foreground trees and tackling Highway 3. And yes the nursery is at capacity. About 180 Aspens ready to hit the foam once the time comes... -grant
I used to take the school bus from Sentinel to Coleman every morning, it's surreal to see it miniaturized like this. Amazing work. This makes me homesick.
Thanks, very cool story. The Crowsnest sticks with you. It's one of very few places I've been to that feels like home. Make sure to stop back in when I start work on Sentinel! Cheers. -grant
Wow, great job! Looks amazing! I have been trying to figure out where you got your very scale peterbilt and Kenworth semi trucks. And also the "doubles" trailers. Are they kits or scratch built?
I spent many years looking down the hood of a 379 Pete and was blown away when they were offered. They are fantastic models. A future project will be tearing one apart to re-create the last truck I drove!
Continues to be one of the best layouts out there.
High praise Joe, thank you. -grant

Wow.... I like how you put that... N scale in HO scenery. Cheers. -grant
Just beautiful Thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks Dave! Much more work to go but things are coming together. Cheers. -grant

Great scene… I like the aspens mix with pines, I looking forward to more videos covering scenery techniques.

As I said on FB where I saw just the picture WOW. The video of the scene is outstanding, TomO
Thanks Tom! Cheers. -grant
Yes! You're definitely on the right track. Brilliant work so far. Still find it amazing this is N gauge!!!
Thanks so much! Cheers. -grant
Nice. A grove of Aspen trees, as well, in the build nursery I see.😉

Lots of work to still go Bob! Thanks for stopping by for a visit. -grant

The tractors are Trainworx special runs offered by Prairie Shadows. The Super B’s are scratch-built. Thanks for stopping in for a peek. -grant
@@SouthernAlbertaRail wow! Great job, they are very detailed! Thanks for the info!!

Looks great Grant. I especially like the way you blended the scenery to the backdrop on the far side of the Hwy. Is that Hwy 3?
Thanks John. It is indeed Highway 3.
@@SouthernAlbertaRail I thought so, we drove it from Castlegar to Calgary a few years ago when we were visiting family up that way.
Keen eye John. This scene is pretty much straddling the BC/Alberta border.
Great
Thanks.
Looking good. A great visual blend between foreground and the backdrop. Always a difficult thing to get to look realistic. 3D to 2D is tough.
Thank you Ian! Still a pile of work to go. Cheers! -grant
beautiful!
Thanks fanatic! -grant
Awessssome ❤
Thanks!! -grant
Amazing !
Thanks! Far from done but starting to look like something. -grant
Great looking.
Thank you. Still a work in progress.
Looks great - but shouldn't the highway have some sort of guardrail?
It will when it's done. Far from finished at this stage. Not even paved yet!!
