One should take great caution before watching the film though, as it is not for the faint of heart. It is morbidly, brutally honest. It pulls no punches, and shows no mercy showing what the outcome of a potential nuclear winter would bring.
Haven't seen it (too squemish), but from what I've heard about it along with other movies like Where the Wind Blows, The Day After, and Barefoot Gen...I now have a crippling fear of nuclear weapons.

Not bad! My only irk about the scenario is that Russia would be about as badly hit as we were. Mutually assured destruction is a near certainty in a scenario such as this.
Russia had much less nukes than the U.S. its part of the reason the U.S. won the cold war was intelligence actually figured that out and Reagan economically wore out the Soviets.

Incredibly made vid well done to sll those that were involved. The visuals really sets it apart from other Nuke attack scenarios and it's quite something to see a full Soviet Victory over M.A.D. curious as to what happens next well done

There’s no chance of evacuation of British cities, it’s impractical. Official advice was to stay put. I think it’s still true today. That said, it’s very well written and very well acted. The news reports really captured the despair and hopeless conditions really well. I thought it was real.
I am thinking if this can make a sequel on the prospective of Soviet Union after the strikes, since everything will become more and more deteriorated, after all...

Still terrifies me to be within 50-60 miles of 4 high profile targets: Cleveland, Windsor/Detroit, Port Huron/Sarnia, and London. Even though I would be well out of immediate danger, and have plenty of time to escape to shelter and prepare for the inevitable, I would still be heavily exposed to radiation due to the fact no real good shelters exist in my area, and it mostly is go to a basement and hope the radiation poisoning isn't too close to the fatal range, as it's not likely anyone will he coming for Chatham-Kent, especially with the only real Canadian forces base being a military barracks of the 4th Battalion in London.

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS ALSO MEANS THAT THE NETWORK ITSELF WILL SHUT DOWN. THE DISCONTINUATION OF FOX PROGRAMMING WILL BE IMMEDIATE. THE SHUTDOWN OF THE FOX BROADCASTING NETWORK WILL TAKE PLACE AT MIDNIGHT. A little animation would air that night at 11:59 PM (10:59 PM Central), as it would have this: (Fox Broadcasting control room) Sideshow Bob: I'm so glad that you had to get me out of jail, Krusty. What if you use a AI text to speech you can mimic U.S. President's voice, it may not sound good raw audio. Could be cool tho after the post processing that makes it sound like its from 50 years ago.
Just one little thing, the message from her majesty, while the Prime Minister may have said that the Queen would never. Also the monarch has no authority to send troops anywhere and probably wouldn't comment on the riots either. The Queen would most likely remain silent but had she spoken in would have been a speech about courage, pulling together and calling for peace. She was very good at being noncommittal lol. There would be no evacuation of UK cities. Our infrastructure couldn't handle it for one thing and roads will have been closed for all but essential vehicles. The advice here was always to stay home and be blown up there and that if you happened to survive you should still stay put as local authorities in other areas will not assist you. Tbh I think the entire "protect and survive" scheme was a palliative designed to fool the public into thinking survival was possible and that the country would continue to function following an attack but your odds of surviving in a city in a shelter built out of mattresses in your dining room isn't going to help you when the top floor of your house has been blown away and everything is on fire.

It's mainly a ceremonial role. They do a lot of good work with charities and they do a little diplomatic stuff but only the showy stuff, not actual negotiations. When the UK news reports on us sending troops somewhere the monarch doesn't come into it.

Most likely. The Soviet elites would quickly find no amount of authority or party loyalty would allow them to survive any better than the serfs. America would still survive in a lesser state. The USSR would be straight cooked.

That is actually explained at the very beginning of the film, “Threads.” A spider is shown on its web, and the narrator says that a society is made up of many different threads (think food production, the supply chain, medical care, people working in factories to produce goods and energy). Everyone has a purpose and each person’s work supports society in their own way. What happens if the threads are cut? Will society endure or collapse? They explore those questions in the scenario of a nuclear war. Totally Obvious Spoiler: Society collapses, in the most horrible of ways.

"Threads" is an incredible film that should be required viewing for all world leaders and policymakers. I loved seeing a different view of the story.

That is actually explained at the very beginning of the film, “Threads.” A spider is shown on its web, and the narrator says that a society is made up of many different threads (think food production, the supply chain, medical care, people working in factories to produce goods and energy). Everyone has a purpose and each person’s work supports society in their own way. What happens if the threads are cut? Will society endure or collapse? They explore those questions in the scenario of a nuclear war.
