There is 1 sensor for alarm and 1 sensor to open barrier, when barrier is opened, alarm can’t activated, when alarm is activated, barrier probably cam’t open
there are differences. When you pay, the door opens normally but when you exit or get free access, the door opens the other way + All public toilets needs to be free.
Idk about american ones, but western european toilets which are pay to enter, are very clean and high tech stuff, which im willing to pay a bit more for
Trust me, if you live in western europe, and see that toilet, you will understand why it costs a few cents (It gets automatically cleaned, and is very high tech, good quality toilet paper, soap, etc)
