How did you keep the instruments from the original song without them being bitcrushed?

Those small fires add nothing but annoyance so I'd strongly suggest you replace them with something else. Bouncing fire turtles perhaps?
The fire pole before the checkpoint could also be removed to trick the player into being extra cautious rather than have obstacles everywhere at every turn. ☺️
