How to FIX Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset Audio Issue? Missing Character / NPC Audio?

- Is your Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset not working correctly? If your NPC and/or character audio is broken in game, either not playing or sounding like the characters are a thousand feet away then I have the solution for you to get your Logitech G Pro X sound fix.
I found this with many games such as AC Valhalla, Back 4 Blood, and more. None of the fixes online worked for me until this. It not pretty, but if you follow this video then I can help you get your character and NPC audio back into your games so that you can use your Logitech G Pro X Gaming Headset. The problem revolves around the issue of 7.1 surround sound versus stereo sound, the G Hub program, and/or potentially a hardware issue.

Did you use the Y splitter or just single? Because if I use single my mic doesn't work.
I had issue when im playing battlefield 1. the sound is just so amazing, bass is perfect, footsteps are okay. but why suddenly during the game, the sound preset suddenly change??
Mine does the same thing but on every game and song, and on my phone or my pc. There's just something wrong with the head jack area because I've gotten it to sound normal again if I bent it one direction.

I'm having issue with this headset where the sound stutters every few minutes but can't find any reports of it online. Anyone experience this? Connected to my pc via the USB soundcard.
I've been following all the tutorials on how to fix this issue and nothing works. One person said to buy a new cable but at this point I don't want to give Logitech any more of my money. I also can't write a bad review of the product since I bought it on Amazon and it's been more than three months since I got it. Super unhappy with this product and it cost me over 180 dollars.
I've been having issues with Rainbow 6 Siege not playing ANY audio when I swap to my Logitech G Pro X Wireless headphones.
I've found that if I swap the sound over to the headphones BEFORE launching the game, I was able to get it to work.
I had the same issue so I took out the connector thing and it was still having issues. What worked for me is I went into "more sound settings," went to the properties of the headphones (mine still popped up as headphones), went to levels, went to balance, and changed the balance of my sound. Making the right ear lower than the left worked for some reason, but I have no clue why. Hope this helps :)
Having that issue but it was working fine on my ps4 pro but soon as I plugged all the parts into my pc the sound is muffled and I can barely hear any npc's when I try to use it on my ps4 it does the same but the thing is when I have the aux halfway in my control it works fine but when I plug it all the way in all sound is muffled and I bought a new aux cord and it does the same thing
Now that is super weird. Completely unacceptable for a headphone that cost $120 plus :(
I had a very similar issue, same headset, Logitech Pro X. Windows 11, I noticed that no matter what settings I was on, it was playing in mono sound. I uninstalled, reinstalled, tried DTS by itself and it just wouldn't come off mono, even though mono was off.
I tried your workaround just now and tested my headset plugged right into the jack, bypassing the dongle. Nice quality surround sound.
I re plugged my dongle into a different USB slot and re-tested and it works...7.1 surround suddenly. No idea why. For the price of these things I shouldn't have to dick around this much!

Are you wearing your headphones backward? (Flip them?)
I found out that is the third party software problem, no sure what does it call but its for optimize audio, its like a EQ app. Somehow for me if i activate/optimize the app for setup better sound its having problem with surround sound. If i had it remove from activation/optimize it work find but the audio sounded really flat. I tried with other pc that doesn’t have third party software EQ it work fine. This is with the usd dongle.
Maybe others can try remove third party app if had this problem.

i have a similar issue except it involves discord vc.. its so weird, everyone in the vc’s are so quiet i can barely hear them, yet everything else works (discord mute button, deafen, outside the application like other games)
i’ve tried all the things i can think of, reinstall logitech, reverse both wires.. (my mic headphone wire was the one that had angle issues where i needed to tilt it in an angle to hear), volume mix, restarting pc, shutting it down too, its driving me insane. i tried over 2 hours of trying to get it to work… by far the weirdest issue ive ever had with tech

Hello. I had the same problem and I managed to solve it by myself, for that, here is how I proceeded: first of all, I exploded some objects passing by because the problem was starting to make me absolutely crazy.
More seriously, I went to the audio settings (right click on the sound logo in the taskbar, then sound), then play, right click on the headphones, properties then properties, and I reset the drivers for my helmet. "restore driver"
Then I restarted my PC, then uninstalled G hub, and reinstalled it. at that time, the problem was solved, but I still went back to the properties of the headphones to activate all the options (all the optional sound outputs), for that, right click on the headphones, configure the speakers, test , then I activated everything it offered me, and everything was fine, no more problems.

I had the exact same issue, I have 2 PCs at home. In one they work fine but on the other one I had this exact same issue, I'd say is not entirely to do with the headset but it has to do with the hardware on the PC. In any case very helpful video.

Btw the real solution is check windows audio control panel to see if your audio device is set to 7.1. Make sure you have logitech's GHUB software installed and up to date. Select your headset through software and navigate to its settings where you can enable surround sound. I use VB audios voicemeter potato to downmix (mix A) 7.1 to stereo for my external speakers and Elgato so none of my outputs miss any audio channels. (Note: install GHUB first because windows wont allow you to choose 7.1 unless its first configured through logitechs software)

@@jasonritzie4343 could be many reasons. Maybe family/privacy settings for that account. If you have the same problems playing under a different user then idk try google instead of youtube comments- i dont own a series xbox
Io o un problema che sembra simile , a me lo stesso difetto si presenta solo quando registro , (il volume di gioco si dimezza, solo quello di gioco non quello del microfono) e l'unica soluzione e di disinstallare il programma di supporto della LOGITECH . faro il reso, ma o notato che per qualche motivo incomprensibile a volte , quando si imposta come predefinita un altra periferica audio , e come periferica di comunicazione le G PRO X allora la registrazione sarà corretta e si sentirà l' audio in entrambe le periferiche , anche se calerà leggermente l' audio nelle cuffie PRO X , in questa maniera anche con il software di supporto LOGITECH installato funzionerà ma vale solo per i giochi .
Same problem on Sony games - God of War and Sackboy. No help from Steam and Sony. Can't get send them back now :(
i hope u can help with my problem, sometimes my sound just completely turns down and then up and then down again and its so annoying when i watch youtube or music or netflix or whatever, actually nvm i removed the big head or whatever its called just plugged the 3.5 mm in to my SPK and now my shit is fixed i think

Are you trying to play in 7.1? For me that has been the problem with “some” games. Enough of an annoyance that I use this strategy to force stereo mode. I’ve been extremely disappointed at how many issues Logitech, a leader in the industry, has had. ESP with hardware/software for their most expensive headphones…
@@LeeroyGaming I dont use 7.1 in games and i dont have it enabled in g hub but when i go in sound setting of my pc i cant switch it to stereo… like I said I have a problem hearing the footsteps in the game I hear someone coming from the right when I look there he is behind me or from the left is always the other side than the one I hear…

Hi. I think my headset also has the same problem. I didn't quite understand the solution in the video? If someone managed to follow the video solution please post on here in text a guide to follow please. My understanding is you disconnect the DAC and then goto sounds setting and click on the playback tab, then go to "Speakers realtek audio" and select "stereo"?? Is that correct?
Then plug back in the headset DAC?. I tried these steps and have had no joy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
That is correct. Make sure to plug in the 3.5mm cord into the proper spot in the back and you should be good. Has worked for me without issues since I posted the video.
I feel so dumb. I was like why isnt my headset working turned out i had plugged the cable into my mic slot instead of the headphones slot. :(

The headset thing on you’re screen dosnt show for me and the speakers say I’m on 7.1
When mine only showed 7.1 it wasn’t working correctly. That’s why I had to make the changes as described and it allowed the headphones to be used in stereo mode
If anyone else encounters this problem:
I had a problem where I could only hear music, but voices and other sound effects sounded lile they came from behind a wall, or were completely silent.
I needed to buy a new 3.5 mm cable to solve my issue, test your headphones on another computer and see if the issue persists. If they do it's probably the cable that's broken.
My issue occurred with the usb connection, the 3.5mm worked, but good to know !
I have had this issue with 3 seperate sets of pro x headsets.
The replacement would work fine for a few weeks or months then the exact issue happens again.
Swapped devices and cables etc. Uninstalled and reinstalled etc like every guide says. Still.
@@mattnykamp2861 Ive never used the dock but im having these audio issues, maybe a speaker got blown out for you? no idea what my issue is so im giving up on a fix, f this shit lol.
@@NSFWTHICC i ended up getting mine replaced 4 times and got the same issue. My only thought was that it was cause I was using the headset on diff devices constantly
Eventually logitech threw up huge hurdles to get any more support to I gave up and got a diff set.

@@mattnykamp2861 yeah it absolutely kills me that I got maybe about 10 months ths worth of use out of this headset and it was $250 at the time of purchase (NZD), only for it to not work like this with apparently 0 fix les for my specific issue. Sigh, oh well. Dropping logitech headsets now I guess.
I bought these headphones in general for gaming, but especially for PUBG, and I almost screwed up! middle and high tones are well expressed, but low tones are a disaster! for example, I can barely hear the opponent's footsteps, as well as everything near me, what is happening! If anyone has any advice on how to help I would appreciate it!

I hope you can return to my comment but I have the G pro x Wireless and I have the issues of the audio going up and down and up and down. I do not know what else to do. nothing is fixing it.
As always, make sure you have the most up to date drivers. Otherwise I’m a bit lost on what could be causing this. Have you tested to see if you have this problem both with it connected with the usb as well as the 3.5mm jack?
@@LeeroyGaming I made sure everything was up to date and I was messing around with the settings.I turned off my pc for a few hours for some reason that worked lol.

@@cristianalaniz1455 make sure that all bios/firmware is up to date on your system as well. Stuff can get wonky when you don’t update things. PCs are like a melting pot of components that don’t always get along.

i had the same issue, i tried all guides and none worked, i found that what was causing the issue was the 3.5mm audio connector (connecting to the rectangular box), i just had a song playing and kept turning it slowly (even pulling it out a little) until the sounds was clear

I actually haven’t used the built on mic in forever. I’m not at home but I believe there should be 3.5mm connectors. One for audio and one for mic

I found the issue... you dont actually need to do any of this at all guys.. What you have done if you have music but it sounds like voices coming from a bunker underground what has happened was that you have the cable backward forward. basically to fix this issue, you need to jack in the cable you put into your computer into the headset.. and you need to put the jack in that was inside your headset into the pc. This fixed the issue for me. so basically you put the cable in backwards.
If I can find the mid component I’ll have to test this out. I’m assuming you mean cable into the usb mini hub (forget the actual name for it) as you connect to the computer via usb.

my issue was that taking out a gun in fortnight would only play in the left ear and characters in the cycle frontier would cut out as soon as they were behind me. also I was apparently missing a lot of the base o_o

i got them as a present from my wife a couple of days back. They are not cheap in my country.

@@wiktornowicki3255 the problem was an issue for me since day 1. I would guess that if you are playing without issue then you “should” be ok. For me changing settings did nothing by itself. In the future I think I’m gonna swap to Steelseries headsets, for now they work fine but it’s lame I have to do without their main feature that makes them expensive.

I found myself running out of usb ports so I bought a really decent usb hub and it was at that moment things went from Meh ... ok to really bad real fast. This Blu Voice HATES every USB hub I have ever plugged into. So we battle the GHub sucks issue and then a I can't use a USB hub issue. Yeah, Logitech officially sucks major @ss! I won't even get started on my Hero Mouse.
If I ditch the hub and run the dongle in the MB ports direct, there is no audio issues at all for me. Yet Ghub still sucks!

This is not a fix, this is a workaround by bypassing the G-Soundcard (USB-Connector) and using the built-in Soundcard instead. Sadly this involves losing all the G-Hub features and provides you only with pure stereo sound. :/ ... and for the same reason, it's not a solution for the wireless version.

These headphones sound like ass, sampling rate from the usb controller is subpar, sound is washed out, and if you eq the headphones the music sounds distorted, I'm returning mine, won't buy anything audio related from Logitech anymore.
Honestly, I love their mouse and keyboard options, but so disappointed with the performance of these headphones. They are very comfortable but just don’t work as needed. Will not buy another paid again. So sad considering they come at a premium price.
@@LeeroyGaming I have Logitech gear and it's fantastic, but after spending over 100 Euros on these headsets I simply cannot trust them anymore in terms of audio. Now, Sennheiser and Creative know how to make a propper headset, audiotechnica, brands that are devoted to making audio products rather than brands who want to become a salad for everything like Razr, HyperX or Logitech.
