Hariharan ji has improvised the ghazal and it is so soothing and pleasing to ear as well that it seems to ring in my ear even after having listened to it.
Wish we had a better recording of this beautiful Ghazal of Khan Sab Mehdi Hassan in a live baithaki version... That said grateful to Hariharanji for bringing these gems out and keeping the traditions alive
i have heard this ghazal for the first time.i guess this one hasnt been recoreded as i have his complete collection but havent heard this one. beautiful rendition and a beginning in raag jaijaiwanti.even at satya sai baba's place he sang a bhajan in the same raag,tumhi mere rasna tumhi mere baina!!worth listening!!thanks 4 uploading

It's really gratifying to note that Hariharan Saab has been striving to continue the rich legacy left behind by Mehdi Hassan Saab and has been able to get a foothold in the process ! He possesses the right credentials to become one of the successors to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab's rich legacy ! Having said that, l have absolutely no hesitation in saying that -- "Akhir Mehdi Hassan Saheb Mehdi Hassan Saheb Hain !" Is Behtareen Fonkar Aur Sakhsiyat Ke Khubion Ke Bareme Aur Kuch Bolna Sayad Suraj Ko Chirag Dikhane Wali Baat Hogi !

So, better keep your unsolicited observations to yourself and obtain vicarious pleasure thereof so as to satisfy your own selfish ego ! Propriety demands that one should be a little bit more pragmatic and magnanimous in accepting the reality and in calling the spade a spade ! One should inculcate a habit of appreciating goodness in others ! It really helps increase one's spiritual level by several notches ! Propriety further demands that one should never ever try to view music through the prism of nationality and religion ! It is an altogether different issue that the Mehdi Hassan Saab was without parallel! Infact, he was the ultimate in ghazal gayiki ! I have been an ardent fan and avid listener of the great Khan Saab for the last 40 years since 1978 when I first came to know him through his divine creations and will remain so till l breathe !
