Before I found this, I had absolutely no clue what ATUS was. I had never read the fanfic, had never heard of it, and didn’t even know what ATUS meant. I had also never heard this song. After watching this I Immediately fell in love with this song, and have probably watched this 50 times because of how much I loved it. I definitely loved the animatic as well, but since I didn’t know the au it was based off of, I didn’t really understand it. Although, once I had finally found the fanfic, I watched this again and loved it even more. Before I had read the fanfic, I had always skipped over the fight between joe and the others, (I have no explanation for why I did this by the way, I just kinda did) and after I read it I had finally watched it. And now I regret not watching that part a lot because of how amazing this is. This really explains the au, even for someone like me who had never even heard of it like I had. And I still loved this even if I didn’t understand it, but actually understanding this made me love it even more.

I know, I know, I'm late for this, but I'll be honest with you. Ever since this came up into my recommendations, my stomach has not been able to digest the feelings that I've literally felt queasy at anything Grian. I've spread it to other friends of mine who also can't take the sadness and are actually going to watch the series now before reading it to get the right feel. I have to say you did such an amazing job that even without the book you can understand a lot of things if you just had a general idea of what is HermitCraft. Completely amazing, how you made the characters all stand out that all suppressed the perfect emotions. Brilliant. Perfect. I can not speak enough words to say how great it is, which speaks a lot as a writer myself. Whatever you do next or are doing, you will always be doing great!

I have watched this video about a hundred times now and still have on loop. It is AMAZING! All the drawings fit so well with the song and you managed to convey the plot of the story really well. Especially when Grian and Taurtis were running into the sunset and it was so cute! Also when Grian was thinking about all the happy memories he’s had in hermitcraft: flying, mystery solving, and being poultry man- not that Grian has anything to do with him or anything- also the scene where he pushed Mumbo through the portal. I cannot convey how much I love this!

I know, I know, I'm late for this, but I'll be honest with you. Ever since this came up into my recommendations, my stomach has not been able to digest the feelings that I've literally felt queasy at anything Grian. I've spread it to other friends of mine who also can't take the sadness and are actually going to watch the series now before reading it to get the right feel.
I have to say you did such an amazing job that even without the book you can understand a lot of things if you just had a general idea of what is HermitCraft. Completely amazing, how you made the characters all stand out that all suppressed the perfect emotions. Brilliant. Perfect. I can not speak enough words to say how great it is, which speaks a lot as a writer myself. Whatever you do next or are doing, you will always be doing great!
i never watched hermitcraft and had no idea what it even was but the story got me so interested that i binged watched grians, scars and mumbos season 7 episodes

I have watched this video about a hundred times now and still have on loop. It is AMAZING! All the drawings fit so well with the song and you managed to convey the plot of the story really well. Especially when Grian and Taurtis were running into the sunset and it was so cute! Also when Grian was thinking about all the happy memories he’s had in hermitcraft: flying, mystery solving, and being poultry man- not that Grian has anything to do with him or anything- also the scene where he pushed Mumbo through the portal. I cannot convey how much I love this!

I just realized how the 'purple-ness' of the whole thing keeps getting Dark, Darker yet Darker the more the video progresses, I like that... I really like that, Great touch!
Haven't got the chance on reading the fic yet but the purple hues speaks like it's presenting Grain's sanity or somesort... just like at 0:30, when mumbo offered a hug the purple lightens up a bit... yep, definitely his sanity or something. It's a great touch qwq I am extremely impressed

i noticed this too!!! in the scene with doc and x you can see how it gets darker and darker as it progresses. it was such a subtle detail during the scenes when they aren't in the end, but. a great touch.

I watched it first and didn't understand, but I read through the comments and realized it was from a fanfiction, atus. As much of a Hermitcraft fan I am, I never heard of this... I ended up reading it all in like 2 hours. I cried. I giggled. And I was amazed. This animation is beautiful. I hope in the future there is a part 2. Thank you for showing me this story.

Fantastic animatic, made me go read ATUS and rewatched this like 10 more times, and I am 100% sure I'll come back because this story not only made me super emotional (with the killer song you chose) but also inspired me to finally get back into sketching.
