  • With a day available to install this wardrobe, we started at 730 and completed by 330.
We had previously made this in our workshop a few days prior.
The interior is all made from mdf sander to a fine p240 finish, with the option of the client painting once installed.
The exterior was made from Birch ply and oiled in a raw polyx oil from OSMO brand.
The interior was a mixture of adjustable shelving, hanging and drawers.
The doors were all soft close and finger pull handles and mirror were added last.
I created this video with the TH-cam Video Editor ( / editor )

I usually do a square cut at the joint which leaves only one angled cut. It works well for me :-)

It was such a long time ago but I'm sure they are the standard full overlay hinges not inset 👍

Do you use any software before actually building the wardrobe?

Only if the project has angles or a complicated junction. But other than that, no 👍

Hi Ryan, question about the angled door. How do you avoid the top right hand side (the acute angle) from hitting the surrounding profile when you open it? I've recently done an angled door job and had issues with this happening and can't think how you got round it. Cheers!

    • @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
      @thelondoncraftsmanworkshop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi!
What I do is put a bevel on the back of the door right on the tip.
So using a plane, make a long bevel around 40 ish mm long starting from the front tip of the door.
It's hard to explain without drawing it or showing a picture.
As long as you don't touch the front tip you won't notice the bevel.
This will remove the rear part of the tip of the door that is likely touching your trim 👍

Ahh that's massively helpful, thank you. I did something similar so feeling reassured! Thought I was being daft. Would be great to see a video of how you do this if you get time. Thanks very much.

Very Nice job, great level of details !
I have a question very technique ! (sorry bad english im from BELGIUM)
how do you make the center door do not touch the top bar when you open it?
With classic hinges, the door is shifted by opening it and it touches at the top., but your's seems not touching ! how ? ? :)
Thank ya lot and keep going

To be fair I think N has something positive to contribute, but didn’t say it very diplomatically. I would really like to see more on how you make and then fit the drawers, for example. I know there are other shorts on mdf drawer making, but I like your style of production and think you would make a good job of it - if you are up for it? Either way, thanks for the effort, nice work and I’m looking forward to seeing more.
