Trains at Raynes Park, SWML - 5th June 2024

Hello and welcome to my subscribers and to those who have visited my channel to watch my latest video of Trains At.
On Wednesday 5th June, I went to Raynes Park which is situated on South Western Maineline.
It’s good station, but wouldn’t say it’s the best.
What I like about it is how the station is designed and Platform is angled with the footbridge in centre that connects both Platforms. Facility wise is good you got coffee house on Platform 1 and 2 side.
View vantage points are good if you are on Platform 2 facing the line towards Woking, and 3 is pretty good as well, line towards Waterloo is curved, so when standing on Platform 1 you have to be on alert at all times and react quickly when fast train is coming, because they do come around very quick and often have missed my shot a few times.
However I do find stations does have couple of issues, 1 it’s very busy station. Standing at far end of Platform 1 and 2 is near impossible to film as you have lots of people keep coming towards you, as Platform 1 and 2 is London side, so it is very busy. Platform 3 can be busy at times, and other times can be quiet. I have to keep moving around lots of times to go to different side of Platform to get privacy, which was quite tricky.
And the barrier at the end of Platform 3 is quite high, and you couldn’t really see the long stretch track enough, which is a shame really. And it didn’t needed to be that high.
Overall it’s good station, but for me personally not a great place for trainspotting, I know there maybe number people may disagree with me, but all each to their own.
I may go back again next future, but who knows.
Trains you will see are Desiros 444, 450, 455s including BR Blue 455868, some 458, 158 / 159 DMU, Class 73 - Network Rail Test Trains, and Class 66 Freight.
