When my grandmother got remarried, she and her new husband took my dad and his brother when they moved...to Italy. She conveniently forgot to tell my grandfather until after they'd left. It was 1925 and the courts weren't as interested in supporting the parent who didn't have custody. So, my father and uncle lived near Florence for about a year before they came back to the U.S.

Hague convention would be invoked, international kidnapping of minors.
Also mentioned elsewhere Canada would extradite. Both egg donor and her fiancé.

The plan, which assumed OP wouldn't fight, is that Alex would arrange OP a job but also arrange secretly for OP to be fired from that job (possibly taking the blame for Alex's own criminal actions). OP would then be unable to pay child support and be a 'deadbeat dad' so that EX and Alex would get full custody and OP would be legally prevented from ever contacting his kids again.

Diane was willing to risk prison time and put her new guy above her own children because she needed money? I'm glad Diane and Alex came clean, more surprised all was forgiven, but Diane is a shit mom. Once you treat your kids like tools or weapons, I lose respect.

Anything that can affect your children's well-being in any way is your business!! Canada can and will extradite to any other country for business fraud charges. The ex-wife insisting on helping her fiance to run from his business dealings makes her guilty of conspiracy, thus endangers the children

I think he should have went forward with full custody, but allowed visitation. That way he doesn’t get aced out after she marries into that powerful family. Because even though the ex has a good life, and it worked out for the best, she’s still pissed at OP. When she would’ve continued to act like I was the one in the wrong, is when I would have continued the process for insurance or safety.

I do not agree with the comments here. He should file for full custody and let her escape to canada or Bahames, who cares? It is higly unlikely that a judge would decide to uproot children from their current situation. He could use his knowledge to push for full custody not to blackmail her . She is an idiot, but this is her problem.

You guys decided for her to quit her job and that you were going to have to make up for the money while she stayed home. Money doesn’t grow on trees. Someone has to work. Personally. I like having roof over my head, a car, electricity and groceries. That costs money. Diane seems to want you to divorce her so it’s your fault. No to marriage counseling. Sounds like she has a side dude.

Far too often people throw out pleasantries without thinking that in no way reflect their real feelings. It's best to be honest with yourself and not care about how things appear because if you've done or said the right thing than it's unlikely that you need to make an effort to look good because you won't look bad. I say this because he said he wishes them all the best but honestly, I truly doubt it. I'm not saying you have to hold a grudge or resentment but in truth I, and I believe he, would simply feel indifference. I wouldn't resent them but I also wouldn't wish them well because that would require caring about them in the first place. If you don't feel positive or negative about the situation then simply say that you wish them no ill.

  • @perfectlyimperfect9129

She shouldn't have quit her job without talking to her husband first and then to get upset cuz he had to work more cuz of her actions is ridiculous!! She clearly wanted out and this was her way of getting out ! 9:13 actually she does have to let you know cuz your kids are around this guy! Anyone that thinks its ok to take children away from their parent is horrible and selfish!! He should have taken her to court cuz she is the one deciding to move thats not on op!! She clearly isnt mature enough to be responsible for kids or even a pet !! She doesnt even know this guy not at all in the best interest of their kids! Of course she wants you to call off the focus city and it's not because she loves her kids because if she did it wouldn't have even been a question as to what she should do to keep them in her life. You should have just let her do whatever she planned on doing because that's who she truly is. It seems like you have opened yourself up for more problems.

I'm confused are they a same sex couple or not. Because the start said they were both female. Unless that was a typo or something.
Also I doubt the wife's relationship was only going on for 6 months and I suspect she was cheating. A lot of other details are all over the place.

  • @Mama_Bear_of_3

OPs wife was certainly the biggest AH in this story. She deserved the consequences she received. She barely knew the man she was dating and she was willing to marry him, move to a new country, and expose her children to someone she really didn't know. That is true parental irresponsibility.
But, in my eyes OP wasn't 100% innocent. His wife told him over and over again in the beginning that she was feeling lonely, and that she needed him more. But, he just kind of brushed it aside, and put work first, then was surprised when she gave up. Yes, he was working hard for his family, and i am not sure what his company's philosophy on family was. My husband and I run our company with the philosophy of "Family First," but sadly many companies don't believe in that rule. But, I don't know how much clearer the wife could have been that she felt abandoned. Everything else is on his exwife and she is a terrible mother.

Yeah I would agree with that if it wasn't for the fact that she quit her job and then they decided she should be a stay-at-home mom. And the fact that he tried to explain that the longer hours was to make up for losing her side of the income. Besides even after all of that he still put in work for the marriage she's the one who didn't

While I agree that OP probably could've handled things better, I think it's a bit unfair to blame him for these things. For one, he made it very clear that their lifestyle was going to change, and she was fine with it until she wasn't. And 2. He said he also tried to plan date nights a d ways to spend time together.

This seems fishy to me. American citizens cannot just move to Canada and live there as they want. Immigration can/probably will take years, and involves extensive security checks.
