This is a great personal item bag. We like the two separate main compartments, as we pack our fold up toiletry hanging bag in the smaller of the two main pockets. We also carry in one of these a fold up set of wheels so we can wheel two of these if they take our rollaboards away during boarding (they perils of non-revving).
I know many FAs carry all three, but I don't know if all three would be too much for that particular plane. Asking in a FA forum or FA coworkers might get you better results.
My understanding is that if you have a rollaboard, that is your carry-on that you stow in the overhead bin and a tote bag like this is your personal bag which you would ideally stow under a seat.
If you lay it on its back, then it should fit under a seat. The tote's dimensions are roughly 16 x 12 x 9. For comparison, the Travelpro Versapack Underseat Rolling Carry-on is 16 x 14.5 x 9.
It really comes down to personal preference and how you like to pack. The Flight Tote has two equal-sized main compartments and the Multi-Purpose Tote has one large main compartment. If you have large bulky items, or just like to have most of your stuff in one area, then go with the Multi-Purpose. As of late, I am selling more of the Multi-purpose tote.
It is winning me over. I recently bought the college-aged daughter the Travelpro FlightCrew5 18" Expandable Rollaboard and she loves it. I am very impressed with it and am weighing which tote to add. Thanks for your detailed reviews of each and your response! I will go with your firm.

Do you think having this, the 22” roller board plus the large crew cooler would be too much stuff to carry on a CRJ 700/900?
