No, it does not. There are no FlightCrew5 rollaboards that come with a suiter. They used to sell one separately, but they don't have that available anymore.

@@mardigras622 There is a big difference in that the FC5 is 16" wide instead of 14". That is if you had a FlightCrew4. It sounds like maybe you have a Crew4 based on how long you've had it. For the cosmetic differences, you can follow the link in the description and check out the FC5 line and the 24".

This is good info. Unless you really want or need the spinner style for some reason, I almost always recommend a 2-wheeled pull-behind bag for flight crew.

Upright, the tote is about 12" tall, but can be squished down to 11". I don't know for sure, but that might be too tall to have it upright. Laying on its back, it's about 10". I think I've stowed similar totes under the seat by laying them on their backs.

Yes you can, especially in the exit rows. For other seats this might be a tighter fit, but it should still fit.

This piece will be too large to be a carry on unless your airline has very generous carry on size limits. This bag, including wheels, bottom foot, and top handle is 25.5 x 16 x 9". It comes with a J-hook. No need to buy a separate one.

My understanding is that if you have a rollaboard, that is your carry-on that you stow in the overhead bin and a tote bag like this is your personal bag which you would ideally stow under a seat.

I would recommend the horizontal because it has a front compartment with more organizational features. It sounds like you would have a lot of small items and would need a place to stow them. I sell very few vertical overnighters. Most people go with the horizontal.

I've carried it on and placed it in an overhead bin wheels first before. I don't recall which aircraft that was, but others have commented that this will fit in the 737 and A320. If you are not flight crew, be prepared to have to check it, though I've never had to.

I tested this bag in the sizers of United and KLM/Air France and it would not fit in either. It ware barely too long (~0.5") for the United sizer. It was well over an inch too long for the the KLM/Air France sizer.

If pairing with one of your rollaboards, I would probably go with the Multi-Purpose Tote. I haven't sold the Vertical Overnighter in several years, so if you want one, you will have to look elsewhere. In my opinion, it seems that carrying the vertical overnight with another rollaboard would be rather cumbersome unless you plan on rolling both.

I know many FAs carry all three, but I don't know if all three would be too much for that particular plane. Asking in a FA forum or FA coworkers might get you better results.

If you lay it on its back, then it should fit under a seat. The tote's dimensions are roughly 16 x 12 x 9. For comparison, the Travelpro Versapack Underseat Rolling Carry-on is 16 x 14.5 x 9.

The Pilot has two outer pockets on the side and abrasion guards on the back edges. It does not have the interior mesh shoe pockets or the extra interior zip around compartment in the lid. Also, the Pilot has a smaller back pocket due to the abrasion guards.

In luggage parlance, the Maxlite and FlightCrew5 lines would be considered "soft sided" luggage. The sides in the FC5 rollaboards have a 3" wide strip of plastic frame material.

I would think that it will fit as long as you don't go crazy with the expansion and filling the front pockets. Keep in mind that, as with most Travelpro bags, the actual dimensions are a little larger than the standard 22x14x9. This bag is more like 23.5x14.5x9.75, plus you have several front pockets and the expansion feature.

Probably no one. Travelpro hasn't had this in stock for months. I'm hoping for August to get more in stock, but I don't know how many I will actually get, or if Travelpro will even get enough to fulfill their backlog of orders.

The 18" is basically a smaller expandable version of the regular 22". It does not have the interior side shoe pockets or the extra zip-around pocket in the lid like the expandable 22".

Undoing the buttons will allow the front to open up a little wider, but it will not open completely and lie flat.

The interior is roughly 15.5" x 13.5" x 6-8" . The interior tapers in depth from the top to bottom. Or the volume is 29L. FYI, I don't stock these because I was not happy with the extending handles. You'll have to order through Travelpro if you are interested.

@@jeremywells4785 Thanks, I was just looking at the laptop compartment, it's a 15.6" screen but the length of it is 14.8" long and 10" wide. I was wondering if that would fit.

@@MAU04NC I just tested it with a laptop that is also just a hair under 15" in length. It just barely fits in the laptop compartment. It is a very tight fit; the zipper will be right up against the edge of the laptop. Technically, it fits, but not sure I would be comfortable with putting my laptop in there.

@@MAU04NC If you don't mind something a little bigger, then yes, I would recommend the 18". You get all the features of the 22" Expandable, just 4 inches shorter. And a laptop fits nicely in the laptop pocket. I would go with 16" or smaller only if you are specifically looking to try to fit something under the seat.

I don't think you would have any problem putting a large headset like David Clarks in the main compartment.

A laptop that is 15" in length will just barely fit, but it will not fit in the padded laptop compartment. So, you can still slide the laptop into the middle compartment where the laptop sleeve is, it just won't fit in the sleeve. The sleeve will accommodate up to a 14" in length laptop. I'm using the longest dimension of the laptop, not the screen size. I hope that info helps.

You can definitely use the J-hook to roll the Vertical overnighter in tandem with a larger rollaboard. I don't know if it's something you would want to do all the time, though. For one, if you have a lot of stuff in the overnighter you might overstress the area around the attachment clip on the rollaboard. Second, when you come to a stop the overnighter is going to want to stick out and not remain upright. Lastly, I don't have vertical overnighters in stock and might not for a while because I wasn't happy with the extending handles.

There isn't much space inside the zippered compartment with the extending handle, but you could cram some small items to each side of the handle if you needed to. You can also unzip the liner in the main compartment and place socks and other small items right up next to the handle tubes if desired.

Underseat dimensions will vary by airline. This bag's dimensions at its widest points (to include the wheels and wheel housings) is 15h x 16w x 10.5d. I don't know if I would get this bag specifically to place under a seat. It would probably fit under most seats, but might run into problems in some seats. I noticed that some space under seats has been taken by USB charging ports which made it more difficult to place a smaller bag than this one under the seat. As I mention in the video, if you have this one packed full it has a very cube-like shape, which isn't the best for wedging under a seat.

I don't know this for sure, but I would doubt that Travelpro would recommend putting it in a washing machine. The cooler is made from ballistic nylon with a Duraguard coating, so Travelpro will recommend washing the outside with plain water or alcohol/water mix. The inside can probably be wiped clean with a mild soap and water if needed.

It might in some aircraft, but I would not count on it. The outer dimensions including the wheel housings are: 15h x 16w x 10.5d. My guess is that probably exceeds some airlines' personal item size. I just flew on a 737-800 with a smaller "under-seat" rolling tote and it fit, but with all of the USB charging ports I had to really wedge it in.

Maybe? I don't know if this is official, but what I've read says the overhead bin has a depth of 14" and a height of 9.5". The max outer dimensions of the Vertical Overnighter are 17" x 14" x 10". So, it might fit sideways in the bin, but I don't know if the 10" dimension will be the limiting factor. That 10" includes the wheels and bottom, so it would be fairly rigid. The Vert. Overnighter also looks like a little rollaboard, so you might be forced to gate check it anyway unless you are part of the crew.

This link www.seatguru.com/airlines/United_Airlines/United_Airlines_Canadair_CRJ.php says the overhead bin will accommodate 18 x 14 x 7. The only thing I have that is close, with wheels, is the Travelpro Max-Lite 5 Rolling Under-Seat Carry-on. It has outer dimensions of 16 x 13.5 x 8.5. There may be other similar bags out there.

Yeah, not sure if this is a comment from international use? Never had a problem domestically with all major airlines carrying on a 22” standard roller bag and always a FlightCrew model even though I’m just a business traveler.

Update: This is apparently closer to 23.5”, but I usually fly Southwest that allows 24”. Apparently the other airlines have never hassled me about the extra 1.5”, but I just got lucky.

No, the Spinner does not have an attachment feature.

It actually does not open up much more than what is shown. If you undo the snaps and the Velcro you are able to bend the front down more to make a larger opening, but the front will not open up much more on its own. The main reason for this is the zipper does not go all the way to the bottom of the bag on either side. The little flaps that snap and Velcro into place seem to function as more of way to keep the contents of the bag inside the bag when it's open than as a way to prevent it from opening wider. There are no elastic straps in the main compartment.

If you include the wheels and top handle the total length of the 21" Spinner is 23".

There is just the one spinner in the FC5 line. Some of their other lines have a spinner tote that measures about 18" including the wheels, but you don't get much packing space. Honestly, I don't get any negative feedback about bags being too big, even though many of Travelpro's 21-22" sized bags are actually 22.5 to 23.5". Of course, every airline is different, so do your research and get what you will be most comfortable with. I can't guarantee any bag will fit in every bin or bag sizer.

Travelpro doesn't include wheels and handles in their official measurements, which is why I try to include the actual dimensions on the website. Each airline's carry-on guidelines are different and some might be more strict than others. I've carried this size of carry-on on many trips. But, if you want to be safe, and that's not a bad idea with carry-on limitations only getting smaller, you can go with a smaller bag in the FlightCrew line. Also, the FlightCrew5 line is made for flight crews and I imagine they can get away with slightly larger carry-ons.

It will work, but it is probably better to slide it over the extending handle. If you have the Vertical Overnighter on the J-hook, whenever you come to a stop the overnighter will not want to stay vertical because of its wheels. You can pull it along just fine while it is attached to the J-hook though.

Thanks for watching! Including the wheels, the bottom is 10.5 inches from front to back. The bottom is also very rigid, so don't count on finessing it into a tight space. You might have a problem getting it into a 9" wide space.

It really comes down to personal preference and how you like to pack. The Flight Tote has two equal-sized main compartments and the Multi-Purpose Tote has one large main compartment. If you have large bulky items, or just like to have most of your stuff in one area, then go with the Multi-Purpose. As of late, I am selling more of the Multi-purpose tote.

It is winning me over. I recently bought the college-aged daughter the Travelpro FlightCrew5 18" Expandable Rollaboard and she loves it. I am very impressed with it and am weighing which tote to add. Thanks for your detailed reviews of each and your response! I will go with your firm.

The totes pair nicely with the rollaboards and can be slid down the extending handle, or carried using the J-hook attachment. The tote is 15” wide and the rollaboards are 14” wide across the top.

Add 1.5" to the height, .5" to the width, and 1" to the depth to account for handles, wheels, front pockets, etc. So, the 21" would be 22.5 x 14.5 x 9 and the 19" Slim would be 20.5 x 14.5 x 8. Keep in mind the 19" slim does not have a J-hook attachment, back pockets, and only one small front pocket.

@@chrisho3851 I didn't have a lot of time before my trip so I ended up buying both. Turns out if you remove the wheels and brackets (just need a screw driver and 10mm socket) the 21" meets all global measurements. So I also purchased a multi-tool from CRKT that airline friendly (no knife attachment). Only time I had to use to remove the wheels was flying from Thailand to Bali. Ive had this bag for 6 years now and it's been all over the world. Only had to disassemble the one time. Ended up gifting the 19" to my mom since return shipping was almost the price of the bag.

No, I don't. As a general rule, you'll want to add to Travelpro's listed dimensions to include wheels, handles, and front/back pockets. For instance, the 22" Expandable Rollaboard is more like 23.5" x 14 x 10" if you include the top handle and front pockets. If you have any concerns about carry-on size restrictions, I would recommend getting a bag as small as you are comfortable with. The FC5 line has a 21" Rollaboard and an 18" Expandable Rollaboard.
