I really needed this! Exam is on Friday! I hope I get a chatty examiner because I will never survive 40 minutes in silence! Good luck to anyone with their exams soon
As someone who did 4 tests😅 I experienced 3 different examiners and they all do conduct themselves differently while on test! One of the examiners I had was so chatty and I asked him questions and he asked me back and I think it made us both relax because we were just talking like normal people and he stopped when i needed to concentrate… made an awkward situation so much easier! Still failed me but he was cool 😂 Quality video as always Francis, the editing was worth the time it took!! 🙌🏼
All great tips, I was lucky with my test as got such a friendly, chatty examiner and we had some great conversations and a few jokes along with some commentary driving. I asked questions about his job and he was asking me questions too. My test went so quickly and I commented that when I realised we were turning back to the test centre, examiner joked it was now his lunch break so did I want to go round again🤣
Thank you so much for your videos. They are all fantastic. I passed yesterday with 4 minors. Absolutely love this channel. Recommend to everybody. Learnt and laughed so much 😅. Will continue to watch them too. Thank you Francis, Laura and entire team. Appreciate you. Keep on going. Your time and knowledge has not gone in vein. Thank you.
I have my driving test coming up next week, these videos are really putting me at ease. I am nervous for the test because I don’t feel confident in knowing the right speed limits for the test routes
I still watch your videos even though I passed my driving test thank you very much for your videos because it really did help me to my driving test I've already recommend friends to watch your videos keep the good work up 👍
Great advice. It makes it so much easier when you can have good rapport with your examiner and helped me reduce nerves on my 1st test. Got my 2nd test on 14th July and will use these tips!!
This video helped so much i did my first driving test in Winchester unfortunately I failed but this video has shown me the confidence that I can keep trying and learn from my mistakes and pass my driving test you explained very clearly keep it up 👍 😊
Great tips! I'd never have dreamed about chatting, but I would be happy to do a commentary drive as it's a good discipline to follow. As you say, it breaks the silence.
MY NAMES LYN I HAVE A DRIVING TEST 2DAY YOUR VIDEO IS HELPFUL AS IV HAD MY BREAKFAST I WISH I COULD HAVE A VIDEO LIKE U HAVE AS U R HELPING ME.ITS IN THE AFTERNOON AT SILVERWATER 2DAY THANK U LYNDA
The owning up to your mistakes is real. I got 2 minors on 1 roundabout, made a total mess of it and i knew it and said it out loud. Examiner said cos no one else was on the roundabout and i knew what id done wrong and rectified it, i narrowly missed a serious fault!
Be polite, friendly and dont be scared to ask questions. My examiners were lovely. Both chatted to me, and put me at ease. Do some mindful exercises before, breath, relax and drive the best you have ever driven. The main thing is check mirrors, blindspot!
I have to not chat. Autism means I need to fully concentrate on the drive. I hope I get a quiet examiner, or that they don't mind short one word answers.
I did wear a pretty dress, and I took out my piercings and made sure most of tattoos were covered to look more respectable!! 😂 My driving examiner was terrifying on the test, gave off demon headmaster vibes all around the route, he did ask questions but he didn’t seem like he really wanted to chat, but as soon as the test was over it was like a switch flipped and he was a different guy, so chatty, so lovely, super friendly, so just goes to show how serious some are. I think what helped me was the fact I thought I failed first five minutes so I was like yep messed up so I stopped stressing about it all, I still don’t understand how I passed 😂
Same thing happened to me. I failed my first test and on my second try I mistook a cul de sac sign for a no entry sign and told the Examiner that I could not go up that road. Examiner made me pull in and stop, then talked to me a out how they would not try to mislead us. Miserable, I thought, "I've failed again" so I relaxed and drove properly. He really put me through my paces, with a hill start behind a parked car on a busy road. At the end he checked my sign knowledge, paused and then said, "You have passed". Wow, you could have knocked me over with a feather. 😊
How to impress? I was absentmindedly humming the Star Wars imperial march theme. Examiner said: "ay you a fan?" Got G-minor ;) (for hesitation in front of an ATAT at a roundabout)
Hey question do you teach newbies on the manual truck? Where I am I already have to have my license before they’ll give me manual lessons. I really want to learn on a manual first but does learning to drive automatic then learning manual make more sense?
My test isn’t until September but my friend told me today that because it’s a Friday I have less chance of passing? And the fact it’s at 12:48 I will hit the lunchtime crowds going back to work. To be honest I think its BS but it’s made me worry 😂
Wow - I also did my test on a Friday at 12:45pm! I thought it was great doing it at the busiest time of day on the day of the week when most people are “over it” - it was a good excuse to drive slowly and cautiously through the busy down town traffic and pedestrians.
Thank you for this i have my test in four weeks, on my birthday to be exact so hopefully i pass this 😅 Good editing and yea, i take lessons with Laura 😊 A different type of video idea, can you make a video on what type of car you can use for a driving test For example take a non driving instructor car, show the viewers what is allowed What isn’t allowed For example i think a engine light fault is ok for a driving test With one or two others wouldn’t be Thank you Francis and Laura
I am a person that uses both hands so when u say left or right i clip my fingers to make sure which side to go , can i ask the examiner to use hands signal as i dont ear well in left ear , whats the best way to go about this please
Hey 👋 there’s lots of reasons people need a left or right point as well as verbal directions and it’s part of examiner training. Let them know you’d like them to point if they wouldn’t mind and they’ll be more than happy to 😊
@@fitnessfran I passed surprisingly I was calm despite the last few days I'm so happy because I really needed this it's literally going to change my life and thank you for the video please don't stop this is clearly your passion you helped me as well as other KUDOS to you and your team
Love the channel, but no disrespect I just dont think anyone should be thinking this much about their driving examiner. As long as you can drive (and I guess dont smell) I doubt they will care too much about how you as a person come across. That said having a video that people can watch and feel like they have some kind of direction in this area, is still a good thing.
I dunno about that… If you went for a job interview you’d want to impress the interviewer. As humans it’s hard not to have bias so it’s definitely a good idea to make a good impression. And it’s a question we get asked a lot on instagram so here’s the video reply 😊
@@fitnessfran I respect your reply and I hope you don't think I was trying to take shots at you or the channel (I purposely tried to write my comment as politely as possible). What's up with Francistravels by the way? Have you got a new channel coming our way?
