    What you just showed will save me over $1200. The local popular repair shop wanted almost $1300 to fix a leak at the filter and on the pipe near the tank.

    I’m replacing the fuel line on my 1999 Buick park avenue and my fuel filter is right in the area I need to replace. It’s a screw on fuel filter on one side so I was wondering if you have any advice on anything I could attach to the new line so I can screw the filter in

    Do compression fittings need the little insert for nylon lines like they do for plastic water lines?

    Mine broke off where the fuel filter nut is on a Chevy astro van...I will have to get new inlets that go into the fuel filter. Any help on where to do so would be amazing.

      I know auto value stores typically stock a wide range of fuel unions and fittings

    I like the flare nut and Union more than the compression fitting although they may work

      yea same here, i just cant see myself using stuff used in everyday plumbing for vehicles... The low pressure side for fuel is really low so their fine, but still.

    Guess what I found in the storage cabinet? PB Blaster! Left over from years ago when You told me how much you liked it & how well it works. Probably liked JBWeld, too.

    Hiw safe is it to use on fuel line will it ever come loose or slip s

    • @FerKurl
      @FerKurl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These are the same fittings that come with GM/Ford/Chrysler fuel line repair kits. If installed properly they won’t come loose

    How does the plastic connect in the compression fitting??

  • @JW007100
    @JW007100 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Don’t use compression fittings they are not meant for flammable gas/ fuel lines. You need to use flare nut fittings. Next thing that will happen the people watching you will use shark fittings since they are all taking over the Lowe’s and Home Depot stores. Vibration, bumps etc. can cause compression fittings to leak also. And yes all fittings can leak, but use the right fitting.
    An example is if you went over rough roads, lots of bumps and potholes a leak might develop and if you park your car in the garage running too long with a leak then you might have a huge problem like boom! Best thing is to replace the whole fuel line, it sucks but fuel lines are made for cars nowadays to be one piece uninterrupted.

    Any opposition to using soft fuel line? My thought… one it’s easier two it doesn’t need to be hard line because it’s not a lot of pressure and it won’t rust.

      i was wondering the same thing... put a new carb in my snowblower but the angle of the fitting was slightly off and theres no extra slack to get it on all the way. I was looking to use this as an extension to add more line instead of replacing the whole line.

    • @FerKurl
      @FerKurl  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a compression fitting in the video so no flaring need but you can go the flaring route and use unions and fittings
