Paul is one of the most intreging and engaging people of our time. We need more Pauls in the world.
This jungle trip did kill TR. He died in 1919 from a lingering infection he picked up on his jungle expedition. TR was 60 years old at his death in 1919 and if he had lived he would have been the odds on favorite to win the Republican nomination for President in 1920. Lots of butterflies from this change in history. Maybe we could have avoided the depression or Second World War. Who knows but you are correct in that he was a badass President and person!
Teddy of the Jungle
Ted Roosevelt was a class act. Imagine having leaders like that to vote for......Trump, Biden etc not quite same 😂
Ever since I’ve heard someone from the 30s say they “thought America had enough of 1 phony Roosevelt”, I’ve been meaning to dig deep on him.
I always like to hear both sides-I didn’t know there was such views of him.
Im starting to think he was ultimately a servant of [his cIass]TheEstmt.
His family made money off of dope & he was partaking in the crises theatre leading up to theFed (being all for a CB & then splitting the ticket).

Best episode ever ❤

Lex don’t scratch the hand that had the spikes in it!😅
5:29 woah I’m so fascinated might check it out
i wanna buy that Peru bird book what’s it called?
Pike.
Theodore Roosevelt HATED being called "Teddy".
Ironically, everyone knows what a "Teddy Bear" is, and man did he hate that being part of his namesake. If I recall, he only accepted TR or Theodore.
When the biggest single lunching in US history happened, against Italians believe it or not, Teddy was glad when he found out about their death and reffered to them with pejoratives.
That suit looks ridiculously uncomfortable in the steaming jungle
1:27 - 2:06
cool candlelit table, are you guys on your honeymoon?
I cannot tell if they’re in lex’s office or if their sitting at a makeshift podcast studio in the woods 😂😂
They're in the literal jungle
In the full episode it reflects on how sun shines at them in the beginning and lowers towards the end of a podcast
He actually wore his suit in the amazon
If you want to read about it, "River of Doubt" by Candice Millard is a really entertaining and well-written book.
: I´m from Brazil and today a expediction like that is crazy , imagine in that time . Still today there are legends about the Eldorado , the nazis went there , the english explorer Percy Fawcett disappear there
Right? So many of this men were just unreal
This Paul guy is a real chaicchierone lol
Trying to be tuff guys😂😂😂
👍😊
Teddy is a trust fund baby who did everything he could to grow the governments control. But don't look at that, look at our national park system.
Agreed on gov. But I do like the parks lol
He was rich.
Mofo is outside at night having a talk bruh put a sleeve on so the mosquito won't sting
The black guy who called him Teddy, which led to the term “Teddy Bear”, later volunteered to join the Confederate army. It’s displayed on his monument.
Wasn't the civil war way before teddy Roosevelts time? Js
@@codiebeck5802 Correct. He served before he began hunting with Teddy.
U really uncomfortable lex jaja
Teddy was not a badass. He had local indigenous folks doing all the work and had them literally carrying him through a significant portion of the trip. He is not someone to idolize.
Evidence?
So let me get this straight. You think that him contracting malaria in one of the most hostile, unexplored places on earth and supposedly having to be carried by indigenous people because he was two seconds from dying somehow subtracts from a lifetime badassery rather than adds to it? Um, what is wrong with you? If you care at all about nature and the importance of its preservation, you should idolize Teddy Roosevelt. You don't have to continue life being a little twit, you know?
Are you going to cite sources or do you just talk out of your ass ?
Evidence?
After the death of his wife and daughter on the same day and went out to North Dakota. He did everything for himself. That is when the badass legend started. Plus charging San Juan Hill in Cuba with the cavalry that he formed he was actually in heavy combat.
